California Prunes Stuffed with Walnuts | Recipe

With Christmas on the way, I’m sure a few of you have some dinner parties planned so I thought I would share this lovely, quick and simple picky dessert that is perfect for a buffét. It is sweet but nutty, funnily enough, and as anyone knows me will know, if there are nuts involved in food, I’m on board! They’d also work really well as a snack, making up a batch on a Sunday evening, ready for the week.

There last for a few days in an air tight container so it is perfect for making ahead of time – the best kind of snack in the busy Christmas period. Let me know what you think to it.


California Prunes Stuffed with Walnuts

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: makes 24

122 calories per 3 plums


  • 24 California Prunes
  • 24 walnut halves
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon


  1. Make a slit down the side of each prune and place a walnut half inside, wrapping the prune around the walnut to cover it completely.
  2. Mix sugar with cinnamon and place in a dish or pie plate.
  3. Roll the prunes in sugar mixture.
  4. Store in an airtight container.
