Ecover Laundry: A More Natural Way To Clean Your Clothes?

In today’s day and age there is a great emphasis on healthy eating, being active, being environmentally friendly, using the healthiest beauty products, and so on. But there are some day to day activities that we participate in that seem to somehow get skimmed over; people are beginning to cotton on to the idea that healthy living doesn’t just mean eating organic food; it’s also about what’s happening around us, especially in our homes. One has to consider how certain fragrances are made, and what damage cleaning strong chemicals can do. Is it safe for our skin? Is it healthy to inhale substances and chemicals that we regularly spray? Is it natural or good for the environment? The answer is no.

One thing I have recently stopped using in my home is scented candles. I loved a Yankee Candle as much as the next person, especially in this season of cosiness and hygge. But after looking into what they are made from, I can’t believe I was burning them in my home!

It got me thinking, what else am I using in my home that isn’t really doing us any good?

One of those things are chemicals such as phosphates, in washing powder and dishwashing products. Not only aren’t they good for us, but they are polluting water systems and harming sea life. Don’t we all deserve better? After having used Ecover laundry powder, that is completely phosphate-free, I have not looked back. I have made my own laundry detergent before using essential oils, but having a natural go-to option at the supermarket is always a bonus. Because making my own laundry detergent all the time? Let’s face it, who go time for that?!

I remember in my life BC (before children) where I did laundry about once a week.

Wearing a uniform to work, and only having the two of us, meant that I didn’t constantly have to wash towels, clothes, or bedding immediately, as we could just wait until we had a full washing basket. But now I have got children and literally do a load of washing a day, it does give me peace of mind that the water we use is better for the environment, as well as our belongings being cared for and cleaned naturally.

Ecover’s plant-based cleaning products work effectively while respecting the health and wellbeing of both you and the planet. Their new laundry detergent is made from ingredients such as aloe vera and coconut oil – all the good stuff, right? Renewable ingredients like plants are better all round than depleting dirty chemicals into the atmosphere. Ecover’s products are formulated for the lowest possible toxicity and the fastest biodegradability, leaving nothing harmful behind.

There are other reasons to use Ecover’s products too; their bottles are made from plant plastic, 100% renewable, reusable and recyclable.

Ecover has never tested on animals and everything is produced in a clean, green factory. It’s a win-win situation for both you and your planet.

In a world with so much accessible information about what is good for us and what is good for the earth, we should really think about the future and take the plunge by making these healthy choices and avoiding mainstream, chemicalised cleaning products.
