Favourite Places For a UK Staycation

Summer might be over but that doesn’t mean to say you’re holidaying has to come to an end; Autumn still provides us with some sunshine, so the great outdoors shouldn’t be neglected. As it gets colder, wrap up and make the most of city break season; stunning sights and winter markets.

Many of you may have a few extra days to take as holiday before the end of the working year. Use this time effectively and plan something that you’ll remember. Maybe this is not the case for you, but remember all of us are entitled to a break, so why not plan for a weekend away?

Perhaps you’re well overdue quality time with your family. Maybe you’re organising a girls weekend or a lads trip. Whether you’re planning an engagement, celebrating a Birthday or Anniversary or you just want to get away from it all, you will want to make sure that you’re staying in the ideal setting. The thing is, it can be terribly difficult to organise a getaway abroad for a large group, and even trickier to plan a surprise romantic getaway. So, why not consider a staycation?

No airport delays, currency exchange rates or language barriers to contend with – you can just jump in the car (or on the train) and let the adventure begin. Plus, the UK has so many unique cities, towns, and villages ready to be discovered. Staying in serviced apartments, B&Bs or hotels, it’s achievable to visit any UK destination of your choice – and you won’t have to spend thousands. There are plenty of amazing spots that might tempt you, here are a few favourites:

London

Venture into the city and experience the hustle and bustle that is London life. Being the number one tourist spot in the country, you’ll have plenty to see and do. You won’t be short of somewhere to stay either; somewhere like serviced apartments such as those on offer in London by SACO will provide you with your every need.

South West Coast

If the seaside really is your thing, Cornwall and Devon are a must for a staycation. You’ll be surrounded by crystal turquoise sea and rugged views so you really will feel like you’re on holiday. Enjoy the Cornish food, culture and entertainment.

The Lake District

The Lake District, famous for its awe-inspiring lakes, forests and mountains is definitely one for the bucket list.

Windsor

Windsor is a quaint town built around its Castle. Be sure to visit the castle, the architecture is stunning and a great historical experience. You could also take a walk around it’s cobbled street town, as well as Windsor great park.

The New Forest

The New Forest is pure heaven for any nature lover. You’ll be surrounded by trees, lakes, open spaces and let’s not forget, hundreds of wild ponies. Why not try horse riding? Or cycling? You won’t be short of things to do in the New Forest.

The Peak District

The Peak District, offers glorious countryside with breathtaking views. I cannot promise you Mr. Darcy, but I can promise you Chatsworth house, a lavish stately home with beautiful gardens.

Edinburgh

If you wish to venture northernmost of the UK, Edinburgh is the City for you. With Castles and Cathedrals ready to be discovered, you will be blown away by its architecture.
