Finding a Good Dentist for Your Family

When it comes to taking care of your family’s teeth, prevention is vital to making sure your family’s teeth remain bright and shiny, without any decay. There is some excellent information available online which gives advice on preventive dentistry. When you move to a new area, finding a new dentist is often far down the list of things to do, but it is important that you prioritise the task of finding a trustworthy family dentist.

Ask For A Referral

When you know the area that you are going to move to, you should ask your current dentist if they have any recommendations. If you already know someone in the area, then you can also ask them if they have a preferred dentist that they visit. Whether it is a dental practice in the city or one in the suburbs that you require, recommendations are an excellent place to start.

Ask Your Insurance Company

If you currently have dental insurance, then you can also ask your provider for a list of recommended dentists within the local area. You will want to ask them if there is an out of network option when choosing a dentist or your choices could be severely limited.

Ask Your Employers

Another source for dental advice and the best practices to use can come from your employers. Ask your new boss directly, and they can speak to the HR department and put together a list of the best local dentists in your new location. If your employer offers dental insurance, they may have a practice that is located close to your place of work which they recommend.

Use The Internet

In this digital age that we live in, the internet is also a source that has a wealth of knowledge that is available to everyone. You can use your favourite search engine to locate all of the local dentists in your area, and then search online for reviews on each one. There are many websites which have reviews about all kinds of different things, including dentists. People like to share their experiences online, especially if they receive an excellent service. Read as many different reviews on all of the dentists in your local area, and then use these to create yourself a shortlist of possible dental practices and try to have at least three.

Visit The Dentist

You can then visit each dentist in turn and check out the facilities before you commit to using their services. Speak to each dentist and get a feel for how they are, as well as their manner with their patients. You will want to find a dentist that is interested in the overall health of their patients, rather than just interested in your teeth. Ask for advice on oral hygiene and see what they have to recommend. You are entitled to speak to a dentist before using their services, and any good dentist will willingly answer any questions you may have to set your mind at ease. When you have spoken to each of the dentists on your shortlist, you will be able to make an informed decision and choose a quality dentist for both you and your family’s teeth.

My brother and his wife might be relocating next month if he gets a promotion that he applied for. If he does end up moving, he’ll need to find a good dentist since his kids have sensitive teeth. I like your tip about asking your HR department for a list of potentially good dentist professionals. Visiting the facilities also seems like a great way to see if it will be a good match or not.

These are some awesome suggestions! I actually own my own practice and was having a hard time finding families to treat, until I partnered with a dental support organization. They built me a website and now families can actually find me online. I even have a bunch of reviews and followers on Facebook since I started. I’d definitely say the internet is a great place to find an amazing dentist, just be sure to read lots of reviews!

These are some really great suggestions! We recently relocated to Pearland, TX and needed a dentist for the whole family so I opted for using the internet. I looked at reviews on Google, ZocDoc, Yelp and a bunch of other places and finally found a family dentist in Pearland, TX that seemed like the perfect match. Our Pearland dental office offers preventive, restorative and even cosmetic dentistry all under one roof! I definitely think we’ve found the perfect family dentist for our crew.

I’m so thankful the internet exists these days! Our family recently moved to Pasadena, TX and I had no idea where to even start looking for a new dentist for our family. Eventually I just typed in “family dentist Pasadena” and started looking through reviews on Google and I was amazed. People leave so much great information in their reviews and in just an hour I had decided on our new Pasadena dentist AND scheduled appointments for the whole family! I think these review sites are basically the new word of mouth for most people, it ROCKS!

It is very hard to find a good dentist for your family. It took me a long time to find a quality family dentist in Huntington Beach, CA, but I finally found one at Ocean Dental Center! Dr. Hudani is wonderful. My family and I are in good hands!
