I recently threw a baby shower for one of my friends, due with a baby girl at the end of the month. I do really enjoy planning things like this but I thought I would share with you all what I did, for those of you that aren’t as keen.
I went with a theme of ‘Ready to Pop’ so all the refreshments were ‘pop’ related, as well as decorating water bottles with ‘ready to pop’ labels.
I kept the games fairly simple (I’m not a massive fan of the whole licking the melted chocolate out of the nappy thing), but we had lots of fun. We did a ‘Pop’ Quiz about lots of things baby related, guessing the size of the bump with string, baby pictionary (having someone try to draw braxton hicks is always fun) and did a nursery rhyme quiz. Below are the links to the documents for the quizzes (the nursery rhyme quiz courtesy of I Heart Nap Time & Chickabug).chickabug_iheartnaptime_baby_shower_games
I kept the decorations fairly simple too, with the colours being pink and white. I used, pink balloons, white table cloths, pink flowers and pink and baby blue bunting (from Over the Big Moon). I put the bunting on the front of the refreshment table and gift tables and around the room. I also made cute centre pieces using pink flowers in a glass, tied some ribbon around the glass and filled the glass with hundreds and thousands sprinkles – hey, you’ve got to work with what you’ve got! I think it looked pretty effective.
Have you thrown any fun parties? Is it something you love or loathe??
