BakerDays

I love baking AND I love cake. So when I came across the BakerDays website (www.bakerdays.com) I jumped at the chance to be able to try one of their new LetterBox Cakes.

The LetterBox Cakes (5 inches in size) work perfectly to have sent to a friend or loved one on their birthday or special occasion, as as the name suggests, they fit through your letter box! The cake also come with a card that can be personalised, balloons and candles so it is a perfect little gift when you can’t be with someone to celebrate – brilliant! It’s the perfect size for a few people to have a taste (but not too big that the special person can’t just eat the whole thing to themselves hehe).

Now, you might be wondering how on earth a cake can be sent through your letterbox without it getting smashed or damaged? I wondered the same thing. But, your cake gets delivered in secure wrapping and gets sent in a cute little tin that keeps it from getting smashed (the little tin also doubles up as another addition to the gift as they can keep it for some bits and bobs).

There is such a variety of styles and images you can have on the cake you choose and you can even add your own photo and words to completely personalise it. There are also a variety of cake flavours you can have: vanilla sponge, double chocolate chip, gluten and wheat free, dairy free and fruit. I was sent a sponge cake to try and it was delicious! They also make cupcakes.

The cakes are from £14.99 including delivery, which to be honest, for all you get, I think is a pretty good deal. There is also the novelty factor of your receiver getting this lovely and unique gift delivered straight to them. I will definitely be using this as a gift for my family that are far away, in the future.

What do you think to the letterbox cake idea?
