I have had real problems with my energy levels lately. I seem to be quite busy with life, work, kids and all the usual home related things. I am normally quite good at meal planning and cooking from scratch, but lately I have really been slacking. So when I was offered the chance to try some of the Bioglan Superfoods range, I thought it was pretty perfect timing.
As a result of my lack of energy, I have been trying to ‘quit’ sugar because I think the slumps or lack of energy that I have, come from eating foods that are full of sugar. Even foods that you wouldn’t expect – sugar is in everything unless you make it yourself!
The pouches I have bee trying are all suitable for vegans, free from nuts, free from dairy, gluten free, organic and just full of goodness basically. They are:
- Super Greens Green Boost – a powder made from Barleygrass, Wheatgrass, Spirulina, Chlorella, Spinach and Kale. RRP £12.99 for 100g
- Spirulina – exactly what it says on the tin. RRP £14.99 for 100g
- Super Greens Cacao Boost – a powder made from Cacao Powder, Pea Protein, Apple Powder, Kale, Spirulina, Chlorella, Bromelain, Chia, Reishi, Shiitake,Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Flaxseed, Spinach, Broccoli and clove extract. RRP £19.99 FOR 100g
You can pretty much add any of them into food and drink that you are already making. It could even bee added into baking for some extra goodness. The cacao boost recommends putting a couple of teaspoons of it in water, and just drinking it. I thought it was going to really gross, because I’ll be honest, it doesn’t look that yummy. But to be honest with you, it was lovely. It tasted like a milkshake, just not as thick, if that makes sense. I will definitely be keeping this up as a drink when I want something healthy but don’t just want water.
I have added the other two into smoothies mostly, to make sure that I am getting even more bang for my buck in terms of goodness. Because they are in a powder, they are just easy and simple to use and throw in.
I have really been enjoying using these superfoods from Bioglan. I like knowing that they are good for you and I have been feeling better since using them, along with a low sugar diet. I think that they are good value for money, as, though, 100g doesn’t sound like much, they are powder so you do get a lot in there as it doesn’t weigh very much. I want to try a few of the others now too. I just need to get in the habit of remembering that I have them in my cupboard so I use them often.
Have you ever used these before?

This sounds fab I love a smoothie so adding something like this would juts give it even more of a healthy kick – will be checking it out. Great review x
I can’t wait to start filling myself back up with energy filled products. During this pregnancy I’ve not really been able to stomach the greens so much, I’m only just starting to eat salad again (3weeks to go). These sound like a super way of getting that goodness into you! 🙂
Your smoothie is SO green! Haha, it just oozes with health 🙂 x
Well these certainly look healthy! I am so bad for eating sugary things when I want a snack, and I don’t feel energised afterwards, so happy to see an alternative xx
I don’t like the look of the green drink but it’s probably good for you. I’ve seen many people drinking these detox drinks. I’ve tasted it once and I think I stick with my miwaldi which I know isn’t healthy lol

I’ve had some of these products before – mostly to put in my daily smoothies. It’s amazing what a difference they can make. I quit refined sugar 14 months ago and feel so much better for it. x
