Brunch at The Mint, Banstead | Review

At the weekends, one of the things that we like to do from time to time is to go out and enjoy some good food. So finding some new places that are fairly local to us, is a must to have on our agenda, to visit from time to time. Speaking of which, The Mint in Banstead, Surrey has been newly refurbished and my friend and I were invited along to see what it looks like now, and try some of the new menu.

For starters, I was really impressed at the look of the place. While it isn’t somewhere I had been before, so couldn’t compare notes, I think the refurbishment looks great. It is a modern twist on a pub, with a really stylish vibe. I like how there is an eclectic feel to the place, with different chairs dotted around, and different shape tables and lamps. It looked really good, and I was really impressed with it; very sophisticated.

We went along for brunch, and while the choice wasn’t huge, it all sounded amazing! My friend went for the full English breakfast and I chose the veggie breakfast.

There are options like granola, and all kinds of poached eggs from eggs florentine to eggs Benedict, as well as pancakes. There is a good selection for brunch and I think that there is something for everyone.

The meal itself was really tasty, with some great additions like hash browns and a beetroot hash cake. The tastes were really tasty, and I would definitely go back again. The portion sizes was just right for brunch I think, which is a good thing. And with prices varying from £10.50 for the full English breakfast, and £9.50 for the veggie breakfast, I think the price is really reasonable too, especially for what you get.

There is a great range of drinks to choose from for brunch, with juices and water, as well a cup of hot, strong coffee from Coffee Collaborative. The setting would work well for brunch with friends, a dinner date, or even a working meeting – it is stylish and the food was great. I was really pleased with the experience that we had, and it is somewhere that I will definitely add to our list to visit again. The staff and service we received was excellent, which is always a bonus!

Do you love to go to brunch? Have you heard of The Mint in Surrey before? It would be great to hear what you think.

Brunch at The Mint is from 9am – 12pm Monday to Saturday and 9 – 11:30am on Sunday, but there are lunch and dinner menus after those times. Though haven’t tried the menu for lunch and dinner, they sound great, and have similar price range.

*we dined as guest of The Mint, but all words and opinions are our own.
