I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas! It can be so tempting to go overboard a little, can’t it? I know I certainly did…!
If you are looking for a little pick me up, or a great recipe to start a detox with, then look no further. This smoothie contains rolled oats – but there’s no need to pre-soak them. Simply blend them and then add everything else separately.
What I love about this recipe is that all the best breakfast ingredients are combined in a quick tasty drink. The oats are wholegrains that are slowly digested during the morning, the banana has high potassium levels, which helps support muscle function, the calcium in the milk and yoghurt, together with the vitamin K & manganese in the prunes all help maintain bone health. Chia seeds are a source of ‘good for you’ unsaturated fats and the fabulous, moreish prunes are high in potassium, so do all sorts from supporting a healthy nervous system, to maintaining blood pressure. Prunes are also a source of copper which helps normal immune function and iron transport in the body. And because prunes contribute to normal bowel function, this smoothie is a great detox.
It is simple, quick and easy – enjoy!

I certainly over ate – this sounds yummy. I like prunes but haven’t thought to put them in a smoothie before!
It is really yummy. Full of goodness! Enjoy x
