Visiting The Caribbean: Things to See and Do

There is truly nowhere better to vacate than to the silky, white sugar sands and crystal, clear Caribbean Sea. Caribbean beaches are rated some of the best in the world and are known as the most utopian holiday destinations globally. With its unbelievable ocean shades of blues and greens, combined with all year round sunshine- there really is no competition.

So you fly out and arrive at your stunning caribbean villa; now, some might be happy on the beach for all of two weeks; catching the early morning sun, book in one hand, pina colada in the other – what’s not to love? Well, there are those that get itchy feet after a few hardcore days of sun worshipping and may prefer a little adventure.

Whether you’re a honeymoon couple, on a family holiday or a lone wolf escaping the hustle and bustle, there is something for everybody in the Caribbean. A blend of excursions with sufficient chilling out from all the fun is recommended; below are some of our must see’s and must do’s during your stay:

Make travelling fun.

Instead of walking or hopping in a taxi to get from, place to place, why not jump on a Segway? You’ll not only be pleasing the kids, but you’ll be able to enjoy breathtaking views and ride at your leisure. For those adrenaline junkies, why not go inland and try quad biking?

The fun doesn’t stop there for you thrill seekers! There are numerous places to paraglide, parasail or ski dive – if you’re up to the challenge of course. The majority of beaches home jet skis and speed boats, ready to hire.

When in Jamaica, the waterfalls and blue holes are a must. Try rock climbing up and rope swinging into crystal clear water at Montego Bay. Grab a bamboo raft and float down shimmering water into the gorgeous sea.

Now that your heart rate is steadily resuming normality, it’s time to slow down a little and appreciate Mother Nature and all her beauty. A visit to stingray city in Grand Cayman is the perfect activity for all you sea life lovers.

If this whets your appetite, go one step further and swim with dolphins, something that many childhood (and adult!) dreams are made of. If you’re headed to the Virgin Islands, the dolphin encounter is renowned. It allows visitors to get up close to the wondrous creatures. Whether you want to swim out in the open water with them, or stay in the shallow waters and frolic and play, your dolphin interactions may be the highlights of your holiday.

Perhaps you’d like to experience marine life through a slightly different perspective, whale watching could be the solution. Opt for a glass-bottom-boat tour to see whales more than 100 feet below the surface – bring binoculars!

If you really want to treat your partner to something romantic, The Bahamas offer a unique horse riding experience. You will be riding along the beach and even in the sea at sunset or sunrise; perfectly picturesque as well as extremely memorable.

Wherever you decide to holiday, just ensure you return home refreshed, renewed, rejuvenated and relaxed. The Caribbean is truly heaven on earth and will provide you with blissful contentment. Have you ever been?
