CB&CO Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Gel | Review

In the quest for whiter teeth, I have tried many a tooth whitening product. From whitening strips to using light technology to lighten; I have given quite a few a try. While most worked to a degree, some did have bad side-effects for my teeth such as sensitivity.

Now, I wouldn’t say my teeth are that bad. To say I didn’t have braces and they’re still my own, they’re not too bad of a shade. But who doesn’t want a brighter smile? So over the past fortnight I have been trying out the CB&CO Charcoal Teeth Whitening Gel.

But does it work? What makes it different from the rest?

For starters, I have never used activated charcoal to whiten my teeth. Having said that, I have used an activated charcoal toothpaste with mint in the past, and found that it had no ill-effect on my teeth. So I was open to giving the whitening gel a go.

This set contains the gel formula in a really easy to use pump tube. Plus, it also comes with a charcoal infused toothbrush for even better results (you can just buy the gel by itself if needed). I like that it is completely natural, though. Free from fluoride, it is 100% natural; even the toothpaste is made from bamboo! As well as whitening your teeth, it does also help to remove plaque and freshened my breath – winning.

It is straightforward and simple to use, as demonstrated in this video:

It really was that easy. But really, the proof in the pudding is in the eating, so to speak.

So, has it made my teeth whiter? Were there any detrimental effects?

Below are my before, during, and after pictures. It does look a little bit like I’m getting ready for Halloween doesn’t it?! But as you can see, there were some pretty great results for using the whitening gel at least once a day for two weeks. I haven’t found there to be any detrimental effects either. My teeth feel the same in terms of sensitivity and when I eat. All good here!

Final Thoughts?

All in all, I really recommend the activated charcoal teeth whitening gel from CB&CO. It works, as you can see, and is really simple to use. I have tried several other methods and it can take half an hour out of your day. But just two minutes a day can get you good results like this. I think it is good value for money, and at £22.99 it doesn’t break the bank. It could make a good gift for anyone interested in beauty, as well as a treat to yourself as a way to naturally get whiter and cleaner teeth.

If you’d like to try it for yourself, then use the code: CBCHAR30 for 30% off your order.

Have you ever heard of this before? Do you think that you’d give it a go? Would love to hear what you think.

Rebecca x*Thanks to CB&CO. All opinions are my own.

  • Activated charcoal is a highly absorbent substance. It removes toxins when they adhere to the surface of the charcoal. It is not absorbed by the body, but passes through the GI system, so chemicals and toxins adhere to it, which then pass through the body and are expelled by the digestive system. I highly recommend using this method.

  • I had a safe teeth whitening procedure at Gentling Smiles in Shoreline, Washington. I’ve tried at-home remedies for teeth whitening but the most effective treatment has been professional treatment.

  • My dentist, Dr. Jeff Lewis, recommended that I avoid teeth whitening options like charcoal treatments because it can actually be abrasive for my tooth enamel. I’ve heard that charcoal treatments work, but I don’t know if it’s worth putting my dental health at risk.

  • Thanks for sharing this article! I am not sure yet how I feel about this treatment. I will probably check with my local dentist in Pasadena, TX at Town Square Dental to see what he would recommend. I have already gotten my teeth whitened by Dr. Nguyen at Town Square Dental, and his treatment works very well!

  • Charcoal belongs in cooking, only. Well that is what I would’ve said a few months back. After my last visit to Plaza Dental in Peoria, AZ, I asked what I can do to improve my whitening of my teeth, because I felt that the routine whitening isn’t enough. And then my dentist just out right and suggested to use charcoal, and I gave it a shot on a whim. Presently, I seen some really nice improvement in my smile and I am good with that.

  • I would definitely like to learn more about charcoal teeth whitening near me. My local family dentist at Islands Pediatric Dentistry in Gilbert, AZ should be able to provide me with all the information I need.

  • My sister started using charcoal toothpaste for a couple of months, and I don’t know how I feel about it, it looks weird. After a few weeks since she started, I actually had my routine visit with my dentist at Floss 365 Dental, at Kennesaw, GA, so I went and ask the question: does charcoal tooth paste work. He told me that yes they do work, and it something he might recommend to people if all other options are not giving the desired results. So I guess my sister is gonna be alright.

  • Charcoal teeth whitening is an awesome solution for whiter teeth! Another effective way to get whiter teeth is a professional whitening, offered by dental offices such as Vayner Family Dentistry in Fairfield, CT.

  • I’ve heard that Charcoal teeth whitening is good for the teeth and actually helps a great deal in whitening them but I’d prefer to talk to my dentist at Exceptional Dentistry, Dixon, IL before switching to any such new products. Kind of skeptical about my oral health. Thanks for your review though.

  • Hey Rebecca!! Even I used to drool over teeth whitening products at some point of time but couldn’t quite muster the strength to give em a try. This Charcoal thing looks quite gross and I would not let this thing touch my teeth – even if you guarantee whitening. I prefer going to my dentist at Sinclair Smiles in Encinitas, CA regularly for whitening and I’m never disappointed.

  • I live in Windsor, Ontario, and I have tried charcoal teeth whitening at home but nothing got my teeth whiter than when I went to Dental Health Centre and got an in-office whitening. In-office is the way to go!

  • Extremely, This is probably the greatest article pertaining to teeth. This unique post is amazingly helpful for you and me. I have come to understand something greater from your place. I am relieved to you. Nice sharing invaluable information.
