Christmas Gift Guide for Wellness & Beauty

The next instalment in my gift guide series is now here; for all things wellness and beauty. I think that the two things are often connected, but making more of an effort to take care of ourselves is really important. Plus, if there is someone in your life that needs a little boost or something to encourage a little more self-care time, then hopefully one of these will fit the bill. I think these are all things that you wouldn’t necessarily buy yourself, and for me, that is always a good idea when thinking of a gift. A gift needs to be a real treat, regardless of what you’ve spent. So something that they wouldn’t think to buy or treat themselves too always works, I think.

They are a bit of a range of things, for all different budgets; it would be great to her what you think.

Hydrosil Turmeric Butter & Hypoallergenic Milk Salve

Cleopatra, so the rumours go, used to bathe daily in donkey milk to stave off dryness and keep her skin smooth and over the years it has been used to treat babies and children with skin allergies. In ancient Egyptian culture, as well as in Indian culture, turmeric has also been widely used to reduce inflammation from skin allergies. So why not combine the two for a great skin salve? If you have eczema prone skin, which I do, especially in the cold winter weather, then giving the Hydrosil Turmeric Butter & Hypoallergenic Milk Salve is worth a try, as it brings instant relief to dry and irritated skin.

Hydrosil Turmeric Butter & Hypoallergenic Milk Salve is free from chemicals, SLS, MI, petroleum and perfumes and can be used on adults and children – I have really felt the benefit, so might work as a great stocking filler this Christmas. It is priced at £9.95 (for 50ml) and you can get it online from www.skinshop.co.uk.

BlueRock Bamboo Toothbrushes

I remember when I was younger, that we would always get a new toothbrush as a stocking filler when we were younger. And while this isn’t something that I have done all of the time with my own children, I think it is a good (and practical) idea. I myself have been using bamboo toothbrushes for a while now, and this Christmas it would be great to get both of my children a kids bamboo toothbrush in their Christmas stocking this year too. Taking steps to be more environmentally friendly is something we have been doing, and plastic toothbrushes may be small, but they do really add up.

These bamboo toothbrushes from BlueRock, and the BlueRock minis, are made from FSC-certified bamboo handles, and the good thing about bamboo is that it is hypoallergenic and naturally anti-bacterial. But instead of just throwing away to landfill after use, they can be composted at home because the handle is completely biodegradable. You can also get a bamboo toothbrush subscription for someone as a gift, if you didn’t want just a one off. Either way, BlueRock donate to marine life conservation with every toothbrush that is purchased. The prices range from £3.50 – £3.90, depending on the toothbrush, and you can get free UK delivery. I think it is definitely value for money!

If you want to give these as a gift this Christmas, then use the code AAU15 to get 15% off any of the 4-packs and/or 15% off the first delivery of a monthly subscription.

Anti Venom Recovery

Anti Venom sounds a little extreme, but I promise it isn’t, and is something that you’ll be thankful for in the run up to Christmas / post-Christmas and New Year hype. It is the first post-indulgence blend that focuses on all of the negative symptoms that can come from a heavy night out, or just generally when you need a pick-me-up, as the supplement blend uses recovery supplements that Olympic athletes and national sports players use.

It is all about treating an underlying symptom, rather than masking them, which is what a lot of alternative products do. The ingredients help to hydrate, replace electrolytes, restore vitamins, and give you an energy boost.  The sachets start at £4.50 for one (multipacks are available) and can be bought online at: www.anti-venom.eu. I think they are a great idea for a stocking filler, or for part of a wellness hamper-style gift.

Magnetic Eyes

If you are anything like me, and have had trouble with false lashes, the glue never sticks, am I right? Then these magnetic lashes from Magnetic Eyes, could be the right thing for you (or for the person you are buying for). They are a bespoke design, and are completely glue free false lashes (great for the festive season and the New Year celebrations)!

You might just be rubbish with traditional false lashes like me, or be sensitive to glues. So these are a really simple option. It took one try to get them to work for me, so they’re not trick at all. The triple magnet set I have here is £12.99, so I think it is good value for money and not a pricey gift at all.

Hopefully these have give you some idea for gifts. It would be great to hear what you think and what you plan on giving as gifts this year.

*items in the post have been gifted, but all opinions are my own, and I would only recommend something that I have tried myself, and would buy myself.
