With all of the sporty antics at weekend, who is now missing Wimbledon?! We were away for most of the time that it was on, but we did follow as much as we could. It is something that I enjoy year after year. Max has tennis lessons, so it is something that he can enjoy and watch too. One thing that is synonymous with Wimbledon is strawberries and cream. Right now is the perfect season for British strawberries, so it is two fabulous British things together, right? When you aren’t eating refined sugar or dairy anymore, it means just having the strawberries, instead of enjoying something like an Eaton Mess. So what else could I have? A cold pressed juice from B Fresh of course!
I have written about juicing on the blog, quite a few times before. I am a big fan of juicing. Juices are just great to have anytime, though. Cold pressed is best to have as it means that no heat has been added when it was blended or mixed. If it says it has been pasteurised, heat has been added which will have taken out some of the goodness out. So cold pressed juices like this are the best.
The #strawberryfields juice contains:
- strawberries, obvs
Strawberries are full of flavonoids. These are known to help reduce cholesterol and used as an anti-inflammatory, so it keeps your immune system up to scratch.
As the juice has the apple and carrot as well as the strawberries, it does make it taste really sweet. It is all natural sweetness, though, so not as calorific as an Eton Mess would be – 73 calories per bottle of this stuff. I loved the taste of it and to be honest, could only really taste the strawberry flavour. So if you are put off by the fact that it has beetroot and cucumber in it, then don’t be!
You can buy the B Fresh juices on their website, or from stockists like Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Wholefoods and other health food stores. At £15 for 6 bottles (on their actual website), I think it is worth the price. It might seem a little pricey, but the cold pressed process is more costly than pasteurising juices. I loved these juices and would get them again.
Have you ever tried this before?
