Autumn is a great time to get crafty with the kids. It doesn’t have to cost a lot because lets face it, there are a lot of things that you can find to use whilst you are out and about. Take a bag whilst you’re out and collect some conkers, leaves, acorns and blackberries. You can then get arty and ‘paint’ with the berries, or make little creatures out of the conkers. The list is endless really.
We were out on a walk the other morning and thought we would collect a few leaves to do some leaf rubbings with. Max then wanted to make some other pictures with the leaves and stick them on the paper. Then we got our ‘messy play’ box out and made a little leaf family with lolly sticks, googly eyes and pom-pom noses. Its so fun to see how Max likes this kind of thing. He got so mad when he showed his baby sister what he’d made and she tried to rip it. Bless.
I love having a toddler though – great excuse to do this kind of thing of an afternoon!
What do you like to make with your kids?
