5 Daily Beauty Routine Tips

When it comes to beauty, most of us have a typical routine that we follow from day to day. Although our routines usually work well, sometimes they could use a little updating. Read on to learn 5 simple of my simple tips that you could start to include in your daily beauty routine.

1. Prioritise Sun Protection

One of the most crucial components of your beauty routine is the inclusion of a broad spectrum sunscreen. Protecting your skin now will prevent skin cancer as well as premature aging – such as sunspots, wrinkles, and fine lines – in the future. Often, moisturisers will automatically include sunscreen but if needed, it is important to find a lightweight option to layer underneath any makeup you wear. I use a CC cream with built-in SPF for pretty much winning.

2. Add Moisture

Adequately hydrated skin is more resilient against the stressors of daily life. Moisturising regularly helps prevent fine lines and can even help form a barrier between your skin and harmful environmental particles in the air. In addition to using a high-quality facial moisturiser, it is of equal importance to moisturise your body as well – after a shower is a perfect time. Don’t forget your lips either.

3. Never Go to Bed Without a Clean Face

Another simple but important habit to include in your daily routine is always washing your face prior to going to sleep. This ensures that all the makeup, impurities, and grime accumulated throughout the day is rinsed away to reduce the risk of clogged pores and breakouts. Also, this washes away any pollution particles – capable of causing free radical damage – that may have settled onto your skin. I know we’ve all been there where we just want to go to bed, but your skin will thank you for it.

4. Exfoliate

Exfoliating clears the skin of debris and dead cells and reveals fresh, new, glowing skin underneath. Although it is important not to overdo it, it is possible to exfoliate daily with a gentle formula. For your body, consider a homemade scrub made from olive or coconut oil and brown sugar.

5. Use Two Pillows

Consider using two pillows for sleeping – this lifts your head up to reduce puffiness by utilising gravity to help control blood and lymph flow that is capable of accumulating under your eyes. As a bonus, use a silk pillowcase to reduce friction on your hair and skin – this can prevent fine lines and reduce moisture loss in hair.
