Each day on my way to work I drive past the Epsom Racecourse. The past few weeks it has been getting busier and busier there with new signs, fencing and lots of vans. I was wondering what it was all about and this weekend we found out – it was the Epsom Derby Race weekend.
Ladies Day was on Friday and so we saw a lot of people dressed up in their finery and crazy big hats. Saturday was Derby Day and it seems like everyone in Surrey came out to play! It was crazy busy, but interesting to go and experience – there was a fun fair, BBQ’s and every type of fast food imagineable. We also found out later that day when we saw on the big screen, that the Royal family were there (but they were obviously in the stand and not mingling among us commoners…)
