For those of you that know me, you will know how much I love planning a party. Browsing Pinterest for cute ideas, as well as looking for themed food is a favourite past time of mine. Really! I like things to look ‘just so’ and I go all out with this kind of thing. Which is why, when I was planning my son’s birthday party last year, I wish I had heard about the Disney Party website beforehand! He wanted a Star Wars themed party as he is Star Wars mad. And while it was pretty decent, it could have looked a lot better. I found a lot of quite naff looking Star Wars things online, not proper Disney so poor quality images, so ended up just using things like blue and black tissue paper for the tablecloth, and making my own party bags which took ages.
Luckily this past week we have been able to have a second attempt to get it right. Disney Party sent us a wide range of things from their website to celebrate with. But not only that, they have party supplies for all Disney themed parties from princesses to Cars, Frozen, Toy Story, and Avengers (got to love all of Disney’s latest acquisitions). So there will be something for everyone little one (or big one, to be fair), if you’re after a themed party.
For the drinks we had:
- BB8-Juice (Orange Juice)
- Vader-Ade (raspberry juice)
- Luke Skywater (water, obvs)
To eat we had:
- BB8 grapes (was going to make them into ‘grape-sagers’ but ran out of sticks
- thai fighters made out of oblong shaped crackers and chunks of cheese
- Storm Corn popcorn
- cupcakes using Star Wars cupcake wrappers and toppers
- cookie cookies using little bear shaped biscuits
- marshmallow stormtroopers, drawn using an edible ink pen
On the website, just choosing the accessories, from straws to paper plates, napkins, tablecloths, cake stands, and food servers, isn’t all that you can do. There are banners and things you can choose, as well as designing free personalised birthday party invitations. So many different things available for the different themed parties that you want. You can even find matching dressing up outfits to go with the themed party if the birthday boy or girl wants to dress up to match the theme. Having everything all in one place is genius! But to be honest, my favourite thing is just the planner and ideas section of the website.
I loved browsing the site to see different ideas for the party that we were going to throw. It gave me the idea for the Thai Fighters cheese and cracker creations, as well as using our existing Star Wars toys and figures for decorating with. Both things so simple but not anything I had ever thought of before. You can also create an account and plan your party from the guest list to the games you will play. I was honestly so impressed and is certainly something that I will use again. As has been said, I do love a good excuse to plan a party. But they can be pretty overwhelming. So this is a tool that I know has helped to keep me organised and not stressed me out (as much as normal anyway)!
Even if you aren’t much of a planner, then I still think you’d get a lot out of using the Disney Party site – it is well designed and really helpful.
Have you got any birthday parties coming up for your little ones? Have you ever used or heard of Disney Party before? Would love to hear what you think.

We used Disney party to help plan Rosalie’s recent little mermaid themed party and I absolutely loved it. Especially the invitations and thank you cards xx
What a fantastic party! My nephew is a huge Star Wars fan so I’ll be sharing this post with her for next years party theme. I love all the little touches, they’re brilliant.
