Dream Holiday Destinations for Young Couples

It is no secret that we love to travel. We travel quite a bit as a family but think that it is important to have a bit of alone time, just the two of us. It makes the time extra special, and we have found that it gets you focused on your relationship. It can sometimes get a bit lost in the busy day to day life with work and children. The children get to enjoy time with grandparents when we go away too which I know that they love. Here are some dream holiday destinations that would be perfect for couples.

Rome

We were lucky to travel here in August for the husband’s 30th birthday. It is a perfect destination for a couple. It would be quite a nightmare visit with young children! The sites and history in the city is just amazing. The architecture is beautiful too. There is just so much to do. We were there for four days and our days were packed out with places to visit and things to do. Of course, the food, especially the ice cream is an amazing benefit too!

Cancun

One of my brothers-in-law went to Cancun in Mexico with his girlfriend about a year ago. They had such a great time. One of the great parts about holidays to Cancun is that the weather is good pretty much all year round. My brother-in-law went in December, and they were still out sunbathing every day. As well as beautiful beaches there are plenty of other things to do too. There are a lot of nightclubs and bars if that is your scene. There are also quite a few action adventure days that you can do, including jungle tours, quad biking and zip lining.

The Lake District

I know some of you might be thinking is the Lake District a dream destination? Well, travel doesn’t always have to be abroad. We went to the lake district in October and had such an amazing time. We lucked out with the weather and enjoyed lots of adventuring and walking. We even hired out a boat on Lake Windemere; we practically had the lake to ourselves. So if you enjoy hiking and then snuggling by an open fire, getting a cottage in the Lake District is a must.

Paris

Well if there is just the two of you, you have to visit the city of lights and love, right? We have been with kids too, but it isn’t that fun with young kids. It’s not baby friendly and it is hard to navigate round with pushchairs. So at only a short trip away from England, it makes it an easy trip to do as a couple. Lots of great sites, lovely food and gorgeous parks. It doesn’t matter if the weather is that bed either.

The Caribbean

I think that if there are just two of you, you should go long haul if you can. It’s no fun doing those flight with little ones. We went to the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon, and it was amazing. Having visited Barbados too, I can say that pretty much any of the Caribbean islands would be suitable for the two of you. Gorgeous beaches, wildlife and chilled out environment. It is the ultimate relaxing break.

Have you been to any of these places? Is there anywhere else you would recommend?
