I don’t know if it is just part and parcel of the New Year or the fact we have lived in our home for over 4 years now, but we’re getting ready for a change (or at least I am). We don’t need to move anywhere else right now so the natural thing to do, is to make some changes to our home and the décor. I am getting more and more into interiors and home and see so many different style to inspire me – if only money wasn’t an issue, I’d be decorating and accessorising all the time!
I don’t necessarily want to redecorate and repaint anywhere but I would love to add some new accessories and soft furnishings to our home. I would love to get some rugs for around the house, particularly in bedrooms. We have light coloured carpets and so just adding something like a rug can really change the look of a whole room, without having to replace a whole carpet – love this one in the picture below, from Rodgers of York.

The kids rooms could so with a little update as we need so much more storage for them. I would love to get a bunk bed style bed for Max and add some wall stencils or something to his room. We also currently have blinds so I’d love to have some curtains too, even if they aren’t ones we close but just to dress the windows and soften them. Curtains can make a big difference I think.

One thing that I know we will for sure be buying soon is a new dining room table. We have had our current one, seats 4, since we were first married six years ago. It is just getting a bit tatty and as there are now 4 of us, it just feels like we need more room, particularly if people come round for dinner. I love proper oak furniture and this table from Rodgers of York really fits the bill. It is large enough, the right colour shade I am looking for and I really like the tall seats – think they just look so much more grand like that.
Do you have any big plans for moving or redecorating this year?

My flat really needs a makeover and this has given me some ideas. I particularly like the top bedroom style and colour scheme.
