After going to Disneyland Paris on the Eurostar back in February and getting delayed, we were sent some vouchers to use up. Their expiry was coming up so we thought it would be fun to use them up for a quick day trip in Paris. It was quite last minute which is why we just went for eight hours in the end.
My in-laws live in Kent so we were able to drop the kids off early and then get the Eurostar in Ashford. I slept the whole way there which was lovely and then in two hours we arrived at Gare du Nord.
Being near Christmas it was lovely to be browse the Christmas markets on the Champs-Élysées, do some shopping, eat amazing food and actually take the time to enjoy the Louvre Museum and a few others sights.
Quite gutted that it was actually quite a foggy day (or perhaps smoggy?) so we half of the Eiffel Tower was covered. So we didn’t think there was much point going to the top to not be able to see anything. So that is still on my list of things to do in Paris (despite going quite a few times)!
I did a quick little vlog of the day so you can see our itinerary. We didn’t use the metro once as we took advantage of dry weather and not having little ones with us. Enjoy!
Have you ever just done Paris in a day? It seemed quite a lot of people on our train were doing the same.
Paris in a day sounds like so much fun…i’m jealous! I would love to visit this time of year when the Christmas markets are on xx
J’adore Paris! I like how you paid it forward with your ticket.. very nice. And I agree, wandering and strolling the city is the way to go when you dont have the tribe with you. Thanks for joining us on #FarawayFiles
Cool vlog! I so wish I lived in London sometimes so I could just hop the train to Paris for the day!
Oh I really want to go to Paris! It looks so much fun xxx
Oh I do love the idea of a whirlwind day in Paris. It seems such a wonderfully indulgent way to spend the day. The Eurostar is so brilliant, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing this on #FarawayFiles
Never done a day in Paris. It’s handy when you live near the tunnel but for us we would have to fly over because we live in Ireland.

Aww it looks like a lovely but speedy trip! I’ve not been to Paris for a good few years but could do it in a day for a little escape like you did!
