I am always shocked after Christmas when you see Easter things being sold. We have a couple of things to happen before we get to Easter – one of them being Valentines day. Love it or hate it, it is coming in just under two weeks.
So with that in mind, I thought I would share a few little things that could work well as your Valentines essentials. If you’re going to be out on a date, at home with your other half or chilling on the sofa with friends, there are a few things you might need to get you through.
Here are some of my top picks – would love to hear what you think!
1.Kanye Card* – £2.70
Becuase let’s face it, it’s just funny. I’m all about funny cards over the really soppy ones. Use the code AAUBlog20 to get 20% off any purchase at Coconut Lane.
2. Cara Card* – £2.70
Perfect for a gal pal if you’re making it more of a ‘galentines’ day. I’m not sure my husband would know who Cara is?! Same with above, though. You can get 20% off with my code.
3. Vase Duo – £20
These are from Red Candy, which is an online store that I adore. You’ll need a few vases for all of those flowers you’ll be getting, or treating yourself to, right?
4. Makeup Brush Set – £14.99
You might have a big date to get ready for or meal out with your spouse planned. Either way, you can look your best with a new makeup brush set (I could certainly do with one anyway – hint, hint). Even if you’re not going out, it’s always nice to get something new.
5. Straight From the Heart Chocolates – £39
You can’t got through Valentine’s day without some chocolates, am I right? Hotel Chocolat is a brand that is a real treat. So I think this box would work well as a gift for your Valentine, or to munch a few on the sofa if you’ll be by yourself. Treat yo’ self!
6. Large Peony Yankee Candle – £23.99
Yankee Candles are life. And so are peonies. A combination of the two is great for the upcoming spring season. Keep the home smelling good, whether you’re staying in or going out.
7. Liquorice Lip Balm* – £7.95 for 30g
I have been trying this out over the past couple of weeks. And I have found it be really help my lips. I can get such dry lips, especially in winter. So this has been amazing and conditioning. I love that it is a really natural product and the smell of it is divine (even though I can’t normally eat liquorice). It has been used in studies of people who suffer from coldsores and over 80% of people found that they experienced breakouts when using this. So perfect to get now if you’re after some kissable lips – you don’t want to have a coldsore on the big day!
8. Mini Lace Bustier – £49.55
If you need an excuse to get yourself some new underwear, than Valentine’s day is as good as any. I love Victoria’s Secret new range, including this red lace number. Even if you’ll be by yourself, who doesn’t love new underwear?
9. Farringdon Kissing Lips Folding Shoes – £90
I recently came across these Cocorose London shoes after seeing them in a magazine. They are great for a planned night on the town, as they fold up really small to keep in your bag. So if your high heels get too much, then you can still be comfortable. They’re leather and come in a variety of colours and styles.
Do you have any plans for valentines?
