Garden Trends for The Summer

Spending sunny afternoons in the garden with friends and family is one of my favourite things to do. Having outside space you can enjoy however is sometimes tricky but no matter how big or small your garden is, making the most of it can transform your experiences in the space. When those summer days come around where you want to be outside relaxing, it’s good to know that you won’t have to do extensive work to get it ready, because you still have time to get your garden ready now.

With that in mind, here is a list of some trends for your garden which can improve your outdoor space, so it’s looking at its best for summer.

Solar Lights

These lights are a great option to add some vibrancy to your garden in the evening. You can place them strategically around your outdoor space to add a burst of light to each corner of the space. Alternatively, if you have a garden path or specific sitting area you feel could use some light to define the space then the lights can be placed around the edge. One of the significant advantages to these lights is that they are solar powered so there is no need to install electrics to power them, which makes them both environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

Decking

Installing decking has been a popular trend for outdoor spaces for many years now but there have been advancements in this area which means now could be the time to install in your garden. Composite decking has shown to be a highly durable alternative to traditional wood decking and considering the winter weather here in the UK that can only be a good thing! Along with reduced maintenance due to better durability, composite decking is also environmentally friendly as it uses reclaimed wood scraps along with recycled plastics and wood. From a design point of view, this decking can add to your outdoor space and make an excellent place for entertaining.

Outdoor speakers

Music can add to your outdoor experience and having a great outdoor speaker can set the mood for any event. Outdoor speakers can come in two forms and depending on your budget and what you’re looking for can alter the route to go down. There are speakers which are permanently left outside or portable speakers which you can bring into an outdoor space. Depending on what you choose there are a wide variety of options available in many styles and price points. Investing in some good speakers which can provide the soundtrack to your summer can really improve the atmosphere in your garden.

Garden furniture

Depending on the space available in your garden, finding some garden furniture can open up more opportunities for your garden. Having either furniture that can be left outside, sometimes with a waterproof cover, or stored indoors in a garage, can give you the option to spend much more time outside. Dining outdoors when the weather allows suddenly becomes possible with tables and chairs in your garden or outdoors sofa’s give you a comfortable place to relax.
