It seems like we are officially saying goodbye to the glorious Indian summer that we were having, and now are fully in autumn and winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love this time of year, but it does remind me that in the UK, we seem to get a lot of one kind of precipitation: rain! It would be nice to experience some of the white stuff every now and again.
I am longing for a ski trip. Well, any trip really. I can’t wait to hear those magical words again: “this is your captain speaking…” So although I’m holding off booking anything until we know more about what is going in with COVID and quarantine, I have been working with Protest to see what their new winter collection and ski season range looks like. I ma honestly in love with the range, as there are a number of styles and colours to choose from, so there really is something for everyone!
Shine bright in neon!
When you’re out on the slopes, standing out in something bright and bold not only looks good, but it makes sure that you don’t get lost from those in your group. I am all for something that looks good but all over something practical too. I think the choices of neons and brights from Protest are fantastic for ski season, with some amazing neon ski jackets like these ones. Even if you don’t have a ski trip planned, they will brighten any grey and miserable winter day, as well as keep you nice and warm!

Bobble or beanie
Wrapping up for winter is a must, and one of the best things that you can do to keep warm, is to keep your head warm. You lose a lot of heat through your head, and all of that. Chances are when you are out on the slopes you will have a helmet on, but in-between that, are you a bobble or a beanie? I have the black bobble hat below and I love it. It is so well made, and the style is really cool, not slouchy. And the important thing, it keeps you nice and warm!

Prints
Colour blocking and bold colour can look great out on the slopes, but Protest also have a good range of prints on ski jackets, both women’s ski jackets and men’s ski jackets. I am a fan of animal print, so they look great, but Protest also have a cool chain print with their Dallas ski and snowboard jacket. I like that the prints aren’t too ‘in your face’ and over the top; they are quite subtle and will look good out on the slopes, as well as for keeping you warm on the school run. Which print is your favourite?

Layering up with mid layers and fleeces
Layering up with ski fleeces and mid-layers is a must when you’re out on the snow. Even though I have been skiing towards the end of the season before, when you’re out all day, you can get pretty cold. Plus, you’ve got the option of taking a layer off when you’re stopping for a break or a bit of après-ski. Again, there are prints which I really like, but there are a number of different fleeces, mid-layers, and hoodies to choose from, for both men and women.
