As winter nears and the weather gets colder, people spend less time outdoors and fail to remain active. They spend more time watching TV and eating hearty, warming food. While this is relaxing, enjoyable and a good time to recharge, many of us remain conscious about how the weight must be piling on, particularly as Christmas approaches. After all, it isn’t just a season for hibernating, it’s also party season so you’ll want to look your best.
Weight gain can occur quick and fast around this time of year so here are seven ways to stay in shape this winter:
Coolsculpting: There are some stubborn areas of our bodies which – no matter how hard we try – we just can’t get rid of. Coolsculpting in London is a non-surgical treatment that eliminates excess fat through the use of extreme cold. It is designed to refine your body shape and tackle your stubborn areas of fat. It is great for attacking the stomach, flanks, thighs, love handles and triceps, and can even be used also for double-chins! Coolsculpting really is cutting edge science that could help you restore your figure. You could visit medical clinic 23MD so ensure you’re taken care of by specialists in the field.
Indoor exercise: During the winter months, you may not be able to exercise outside due to weather conditions – or you just may not want too! But there are many ways to stay active and warm. You can walk laps while you’re out shopping, go to a fitness class at the gym, join a dance class, lift weights, work out to a video at home, or even just dance with your kids in the kitchen.
Try something new: You could embrace the winter and go ice skating or go on a ski holiday in the alps. If you’d prefer to stay warm, try indoor rock climbing or hot yoga – the key to staying active all year round is to find something you love and stick with it.
Don’t skip breakfast: Warming foods don’t have to be unhealthy! Start the day off with a bowl of porridge – remember, skipping breakfast will not help you lose weight! In fact, you’ll be running on empty and more likely to grab sugary snacks later on in the day.
Organization makes all the difference: Planning out your meals for the week will prevent you from ending up at the drive-through or reaching for junk food.
Drink more water: Sometimes we eat because we think we’re hungry but often we are in fact thirsty. Although hot drinks can be more appealing, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. Keeping hydrated will give you more energy as well as remove waste from your body by flushing out all that’s bad.
Don’t punish yourself: There are bound to be temptations around you – and it’s ok to indulge a little or you’ll just be miserable. Don’t punish yourself for having a little treat, just don’t go overboard. Know your limits and take control. If you know you’re going out to eat with friends in the evening, make sure your other meals are a little lighter and you won’t feel quite as bloated.
Although it’s tempting to let yourself go during these colder months, it’s just not worth it. We can look after our bodies through exercise and a healthy diet; the wide-ranging benefits include heart health, lower cancer risk, and reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression. All of these factors are just too important to ignore.
Winter is one of my favorite seasons (I say that at the beginning of every season to stay positive and give myself a fresh outlook every few months). A few years ago I decided to see exercise as a great way to warm up. Whenever I get a little too cold, I secretly do a few jumping jacks to ramp up my body temperature. This helps my body to acclimatize faster (blood flow = recovery), boosts energy levels and helps me turn my winters into weight loss season. I couldn’t agree more with your point on drinking enough water – we tend to opt for warmer drinks in the colder months, but there is nothing wrong with drinking plain, heated water to stay hydrated and keep warm at the same time.

For weight loss, I was looking for something that would be easier for me. I am blessed to have found this blog. Some of the easiest ways to lose weight you say are really awesome. Of course, this blog will help me. Thanks a lot.
It’s good to know that the coolsculpting method exists for people who want to restore their old figure. Lilith, my friend, is trying to lose some extra pounds since she thinks that it is unhealthy for her age to exceed her ideal weight. It might be better if she can consult a medical expert and see if this treatment is right for her.
