Health: Vitalise Cleanse Juicing Review

If you are a regular reader of the blog, you will know that I love a good green juice in my life. I think that they taste good, and of course, love that they are full of natural goodness. I like to make my own where I can, but have to come to realise that it isn’t always possible to make my own, so grab some when I’m out and about. However, not all juices are created equal!

There are plenty of brands that make juices, but a lot of them are pasteurised or heated, meaning that all of their natural goodness isn’t maintained. I mean, its going to be better for you than eating a chocolate bar. But in order to reset your body and properly cleanse it, then cold pressed juices are the one to go for. Vitalise Cleanse got in touch a couple of weeks ago to see if I would be interested in trying out some of the juices, to do a three day cleanse. I was looking forward to it, so I’ll let you know how I got on.

What is a Cleanse?

Doing a juice cleanse is a period of time where you only consume juice. It could just be a day or up to a week. There are even people that do it for a month or so (if you’re seen the Netflix documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead). But anything is going to be better than nothing. Vitalise Cleanse do a one, three or five day cleanse pack, though you can pick and choose. But the aim of doing a cleanse is to unleash the body’s natural healing power by getting rid of toxins that have built up, all of which can come from processed foods, sugars and alcohol. Juices are so high in vitamins and nutrients so they easily get absorbed into the body, meaning that the most goodness can come from it. As a result of just having juice, it can help you to loose weight and give you healthy boost. So I would honestly recommend doing them every so often.

Does It Work?

It is always a tricky question to answer if someone asks you if the cleanse worked or not. But I’ll be honest, I felt like I had a lot more energy. I was clearing my body of lots of waste (sorry, TMI), my skin was clear, and I was feeling well in myself. So if those are things to go by, then I think you can say it worked. It is all about making your body more alkaline, and too many animal products or processed foods can make your body too acidic.

Also, as some of you may or may not know, I have been struggling with secondary infertility and not menstruating for long periods of time. A couple of days after I finished the cleanse I had a period! This was the first time in about six months. Whether or not that was a coincidence or not, I’ll never really know. But I think it was the cleanse giving my body a healthy reboot.

Was I Hungry All The Time?

I honestly thought I was going to feel starving! I have done cleanses like this before but ones that I just ‘create’ myself. And I have always felt hungry. But as you have seven bottles of juice a day, and they are quite large, it  means having one every two hours or so. So just as I started to feel hungry, it was time to have another. Plus, you should be drinking lots of water during it too, and that helps get rid of hunger pains.

Did The Juices Taste Horrible?

There are so many different flavours, and I was a little bit anxious at first. I mean, one of them contains charcoal, and as you can imagine is black in colour. So it did seem a little odd drinking that, but to be honest, they all tasted good and are all organic! Some will be better for different things though as there are cleanses for an intensive system cleanse or to trim down. My favourites were the beetroot ones, any green one, and a citrus one. Some of the nut mylks contain mesquite which I have not tasted before, and it was quite a strong flavour. But it wasn’t horrible and it didn’t put me off. That was the only thing that I had to adjust to though.

Is It Value For Money?

A single juice costs £5, so for me just getting one or two isn’t value for money. However, the cleanse packs start from around £30 for a one day cleanse (7 bottles), £94 for a three day cleanse (21 bottles) and so on. It might seem like a lot, and more than you might normally spend on groceries, but for me, the health benefits are completely worth it. You get free delivery and the ingredients are high quality and organic too.

Would You Recommend Vitalise Cleanse?

I had a very positive experience doing a three day juice cleanse with Vitalise Cleanse. I would love to do it again every couple of months and would certainly use this brand again. So I think there is no better recommendation than that!

Have you ever done a juice cleanse? Would yo be tempted to try Vitalise Cleanse?
