Don’t have any plan to travel during your time off? Then it is perhaps a good time to start a home improvement project you have been pushing back for a while. There are some great home improvement projects you can do in as little as a week. We are going to take a look at some of them in this article.
Bathroom Remodelling
Bathrooms are often the quickest rooms to look old. The high level of moisture, high usage and several common problems – such as leaks and stains – can turn your once beautiful bathroom into an outdated one. Fortunately, you can refresh your bathroom without having to do a complete remodel.
Simple projects such as retiling, for instance, can help make the bathroom look fresh and vibrant. Get in touch with your local tiler and add some bright-coloured tiles to the bathroom. You can also add new sources of light to brighten things up. A one-way window positioned near the ceiling is always a great idea.
There are other things you can do around the bathroom too. You can add recessed, concealed cabinets for some extra storage space. You can change the sink and the countertop to go with the new tiles too. A simple repaint to finish things off will complete the transformation.
Quick Fixes and Repairs
Home improvement projects don’t always have to be changing the way the house – or the interior of the house – looks. Over the years, your house may be accumulating problems. These seemingly small and negligible issues can actually turn into something more serious when not treated properly. Broken shingles or cracks on your windows, for example, often lead to higher energy bills and other potential problems.
Some of these projects can be done over the weekend. You can do most of the things yourself as long as you have the right tools for the job. Alternatively, you can contact a reputable contractor and have the entire house examined for problems before starting a thorough repair project.
A Cosy Living Room
A lot of homeowners remodel their kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, only to do nothing about the living room. This is the room you’re spending the most time in, so don’t forget to show it some love and make the living room as comfortable as it can be.
A living room makeover is a great project for the entire family. You can have your partner and your children involved in the projects from the start. Your kids can choose the colours while you select the right furniture to add to the room. The whole project can be a fun way to spend your break too.
Spend a day repainting the living room and you can turn the simple remodelling project into a family activity. Getting everyone involved is also a great way to make the room feel warmer and livelier. You will see traces of everyone around the room, turning a simple living room into a memorable family room.
These home improvement ideas will help you get started with planning your own projects. Find more things to improve around the house and start your own projects to fill your next break from work.

Hope you do not use white bricks, Rebecca. I have tried for my bathroom and it was stains back in just 2 weeks.
I have just been off for two weeks to get things sorted but honestly it’s never enough. I still have so much to sort out.

Hello Rebecca, it’s the best idea when you got free from office work and have no plans for outings. I also prefer a one way window positioned near the ceiling as it’s a great idea when we talk about bathrooms. Thanks for the blog.
Maybe I don’t get out enough, but talking about bathroom upgrades… I just love the faucets that pour into a bowl basin. Add a wood shelf or two with wrought-iron incorporated into it somewhere in the bathroom, man! Instant value!
Hii,
Great post!
If your main purpose of remodeling your home is to increase it’s value then make sure you hire knowledgeable contractor for the work. There are expert home remodeling contractors that can really deliver.
Home improvement shows give us an unrealistic expectation of the process. They are, like fairy tales, fun and entertaining, but when remodeling one’s home it is highly recommended to approach the subject with realistic expectations.

Great post.
It’s true that Home improvement projects don’t always have to be changing the way the house looks and feels like. There are alot of fixes you can do yourself but for the rest you need to find a local contractor.
Great Content!
Keep up the great work!
