Stocking Filler Ideas From Hotel Chocolat & Bags of Love Review

If there is something that I find difficult about looking for Christmas gifts is the stocking fillers. A few smaller gifts are a must, right? But I don’t want them to just be some plastic tat, especially for the kids. So as well as some small toys or books, I also like to get something edible for my children, and husband, of course. I grew up getting a selection pack, bag of chocolate coins, and a tube of fruit pastilles, so having a few small treats in the stockings is a tradition that I want to carry on.

You might not think that Hotel Chocolat is a place to look for stocking fillers

as they are often associated with larger boxes of chocolate. But being my ultimate favourite chocolate brand, I have been exploring what stocking filler options that they have.

Nibbly Pot Malty Munchies – £5.50 (or two pots for £10)

Salted Caramel Chocolate & Clementine Spread – £6

12 Roly-Poly Christmas Robins – £7.50

We have been trying out the selections above and I have got to admit just how tasty they are! The malty munchies are, as you might imagine, similar to other malted chocolate balls, but the are so much nicer! You might think that they a little expensive for what they are, but they are super tasty, and let’s face it, super posh so make a goos stocking filler, rather than a generic chocolate option.

The salted caramel spread is to die for! I even caught my husband and son eating it straight from the tub with a spoon! There are a range of spreads from Hotel Chocolat, such as their version of Nutella, but this is perfect for Christmas. It is thick, super indulgent, and tastes amazing. So a good treat for a chocolate spread lover, I think. I would love some more of this under my tree on Christmas morning.

The roly-poly robins are super cute, and would be great for children. I’m not sure if the image illustrates it, but they aren’t super thick chunks of chocolate, so for me, it works as a perfect stocking filler for children. A fun design, tasty chocolate, and just enough chocolate. I think the price point is pretty good for what you get too.

And how cute are the christmas stockings underneath here?

We got them from Bags of Love and you can completely personalise them. The whole design process was really simple and easy to use. I uploaded the Christmas print, and then uploaded a photograph on the reverse side. I love anything personalised and I know the children will like seeing their picture on Christmas morning. You can also adjust the name on the top of the stocking so there is no mistaking who has which stocking.

I was so pleased with the stockings, and the quality of them is really lovely. They cost £29 per stocking, which might be more than you would spend on a plain stocking. But for what you get, and that it is completely personalised I think the cost is justified. Plus, they are good quality so you can use them year after year.

The details:

  • Red ribbon loop to hang up
  • Faux suede (is water repellant and fire retardant)
  • Bold, intense colours – I was pleased with how the prints all came out
