It has been ages since I have posted. I usually try to do a post every 2 or 3 days but recently I just haven’t been able to find the time. I’m waiting for the second trimester energy to kick in but it is yet to appear – I’ll be in trimester three before I know it!
Anyway, the biggest thing that has happened recently was our little man turning two years old last week. Two. I can’t believe it. I love being his parent – he brings such joy to me everyday. Even when he is being cheeky I have to try not to laugh, he is just so funny. We celebrated with some family members round, opening presents (and eating cake of course). He was so overwhelmed with everything and was constantly saying ‘wow’ at all his gifts (he’s a lucky boy) and didn’t know which to play with first.
One of his favourite things right now (OK, the most favourite thing right now), are trains. He is obsessed. He was very lucky to get a fab new train set for his birthday – I’m not sure it will ever get old, he has played with it for hours on end each day since. He also really enjoys watching trains on YouTube (bless him) as he expertly navigates himself around the iPad (I have become amazed at how much junk is on YouTube. There are people filming their own train sets and making their toy trains crash and these things have millions and millions of views – I just hope they are all from toddlers…).
He is full of words and comes out with new things every day. It’s a very fun age and I really like when he will come up to me with his blankie asking for a ‘cuggle’ and you know he is understanding things that are going on and taking absolutely everything in.
