Insta-Worthy Afternoon Teas in London

If you are planning a trip into London this summer, then booking in an afternoon tea is a must, right? For tourists, there is nothing more quintessentially British, and for locals, it is just a lovely thing to do. Of course, the options can vary from really high end to quite basic and everything in between, and for all dietary needs too. So there really are options for everyone.

Adding in an element of prettiness is also a factor, right? Doing it for the gram, and all of that. So with that in mind, here are some of the best, and most Instagram-worthy afternoon teas in London; which is your favourite?

Vegan Afternoon Tea at Cake Boy, Wandsworth

Whether you are vegan for the animals or through intolerances, choosing an afternoon tea can be tricky because of all of the dairy (hello, clotted cream). So finding a completely vegan afternoon tea is a winner, and that crown goes to Cake Boy in Wandsworth. There is a stunning range of savouries and sweets, including things like buckwheat petit pain, Cheddar-style cheese, gluten-free mint loaf, and a vegan take on Mont Blanc (as everything is gluten-free too). You can have the dished with eggs and dairy if required, so works well when you’ve got a group of people with different dietary requirements.

Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea, Aqua Shard London Bridge

If you want to visit London’s tallest building, then being able to visit The Shard, and have an afternoon tea is a great choice. And what is more British and cute than a Mary Poppins themed afternoon tea? Up until November 2019 you can experience the Mary Poppins afternoon tea, on the 31st floor of The Shard, so you get a great view, to boot. I am going here in July and I am really looking forward to it!

London Landmarks Afternoon Tea at Town House, Kensington

A stylish boutique hotel that was made famous with their ‘Tale as Old and Time’ Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea a couple of years ago, is now back with their London Landmarks afternoon yea. The Shard, The Gherkin and Big Ben are all made into sweet and savoury treats, all served on a London Eye cake stand.

The Ivy, Tower Bridge

The setting of The Ivy Tower Bridge is so stunning, with great views and fabulous decor. And the food is second to none, too. Cakes, sandwiches, and pretty desserts with edible flowers are what you can expect at this classic afternoon tea, and they do cater for vegans and vegetarians too. I have been here for a blog event and it was delicious, with a great range on offer.

The Gallery, Sketch, Mayfair

If you are looking for Insta-worthy then this is one of the most perfect spots in London (even the toilets are stunning)! It is a popular spot, hence the price, I presume, but it looks simply amazing with a velvet-clad Gallery and lots of pink. Afternoon tea in this pink boudoir is something else, with a pretty and tasty range of foods on offer, as well as an allergen-free patisserie menu if required.

Price: from £59 per person

Have you been to any of these before? It would be great to hear what you think.
