Interiors Trend Report: Manhattan Loft Living

Urban interiors continue to be a popular choice for living spaces, and it can be so easily replicated in your own home. From the plush pads of Tribeca to the ace apartments of Soho, inspiration can be found at so many interiors from the big city. The key is to incorporate elements of the look in your home, so read on to find out which could work for you. The great thing is, all of these features have been pegged as essentials to stay on trend in 2018 – so you know your home will be bang up to date!

Design Notes

Dark wood

Try sticking to deeper toned woods such as oak, mahogany and walnut. They immediately say “luxurious”, and if you choose weathered finishes you’ll find they suit this theme perfectly!

Metallic accents

Whether rustic copper or burnished chrome, make sure you have a hint of metal in the room. This will add to the industrial feel of a typical Manhattan loft interior whilst giving a touch of class. If in doubt, be sure to stick to the same colour metal throughout your home to avoid unsightly clashes.

Texture mix

Don’t be scared to combine different textures however! This look is all about mixing eclectic fabrics and materials together. Deep grained wood furniture can be paired beautifully with sumptuous woolen cushions and throws. Although this look may have an urban edge, it should have comfort at its heart.

On Trend Hot Picks!

This super stylish piece would work perfectly in the kitchen as an island for bottles of wine or extra cooking gadgets, or in the living room with baskets of books stored underneath. A table like this wouldn’t look out of place in some of the high end restaurants and hotels I’ve been to in London, so just think of how much charm it could add to your home! Find it here.

Good luck choosing a colour! These throws are wonderfully chunky and textured, and come in such beautiful neutral shades that would compliment this style effortlessly. Find it here.

I absolutely adore this light fixture! As we reported last time copper tones are SO in this year, and this would look divine hung over a dining table to impress your dinner guests. Or place three in a row over a breakfast bar to really nail this look. Find it here.

A must have item that would be practical for almost any room of your house. I would love this in my own bedroom so all my clothes and bed linen are hidden away in style! Its dark wood combined with vintage-looking handles tie in with the theme exactly. Find it here.

You can’t go wrong with a selection of uniquely designed cushions for this look. Choose any print from geometric to striped, and so long as you stay within gentle metallic hues you’ll keep right on trend. These are two of my favourites from Dunelm for this edit! Find them here.

This multi-use sideboard is as practical as it is gorgeous! I love the use of baskets to help organise and hide all your bits and pieces whilst looking so shabby chic. Place in your dining room for all your dinnerware, or in your living room to house plenty of books and other entertainment. Find it here.

I hope you loved these picks as much as I do.

There is some truly distinctive industrial furniture to be found at Zurleys, so take a look!

I love the Manhattan loft look, and would be ideal for my daughter’s room. She’s looking for more simplistic lines, and less colour (having grown from her purple walls and pretty phase). Some great inspiration in your post.

Those are lovely picks. I love the throws by Wayfair. We keep seeing the TV advert with Lorraine and that house looks fabulous.

Totally agree about the deep toned woods – they’re stunning. We’re hoping to get wood floors installed soon and are looking at mahogany
