Julia Buckley’s New Workout Book | Review

ignite-ad1

I am no stranger to a good workout (having worked as a personal trainer in another life) and I go the gym most weekdays. So when I was offered the chance to review Julia Buckley’s new eBook Ignite: 4 Weeks to  Leaner, Faster & Hotter Body, I jumped at the chance. Anything for a lean, fast and hot body right? 😉

I have used one of Julia’s workout books before too and enjoyed it. Really great to be able to work out from home and with little equipment. With Ignite, Julia didn’t fail to deliver!

As it is an ebook, I was able to download it to my phone and use it when I was at the gym. You don’t need to go to a gym, though, at all! You don’t need any equipment (although a timer and a gym / yoga mat would be useful), which makes it great to work out from home. I did this on the evenings when I was running out of time to hit the gym. They workouts are 30 minutes long so they are perfect for fitting into a busy lifestyle.

The instructions are clear and there are pictures to demonstrate what to do. Having worked in fitness, I think I made up what some moves are called so needed a little clarification as to the move she was meaning. They are great moves that work on your whole body but they aren’t difficult to do. You do need to push yourself, though. Julia says if you’re not sweating you’re not doing it right!

It is a good idea to have a read through before you start. Julia talks about the importance of taking before and after photos – yes, I took some. No, I won’t be showing anyone. But it is a good indicator for me as to how I’m doing. Just using the scales isn’t always a good indicator and muscle weighs more than fat. Taking measurements and using photos really helps.

Overall I have really been enjoying it. I have been feeling stronger and loving that ‘day-after-the-gym-ache each day. I feel like I’ve improved over the time as I wasn’t get as tired after each move or workout. I have only lost a few pounds over the four weeks of doing it (down 5lbs), but my clothes are fitting me better and I genuinely feel fitter.

You can get Ignite on Kindle or for iPad reader, available on Amazon for £6.76. I think this is a total bargain. It works and is significantly cheaper than gym membership or a personal trainer.

Have you heard of Ignite? Would you give it a go?

  • Sounds like a great work out tool…I’d love to have the time to work out every day…guess as the kiddies get bigger that should get easier? For now I’m chuffed with managing 2-3 workouts a week.
