Reviewed: Leesa Mattress

Keeping cool in the summer heat can be tricky when you’re in a home with no air conditioning. Not to mention that our modern homes are so well insulated, that they don’t stay very cool, even if you open all of the windows. So for the past couple of weeks, getting to sleep has been pretty tricky, right? Even with a fan, it can mean lots of tossing and turning trying to get to sleep.

Of course, your bedding has a lot to do with it, and pulling over a thick tog duvet is a no-no in the heat. But your mattress plays a role in how you keep cool too. I mean, it makes perfect sense as your body is laying on it all night.

We have had a pretty old school mattress for quite a while now (in fact, didn’t realise quite how old school until I lifted it up to move it off our bed and it had a spring sticking out. Nice). It has been fine for our needs, but it just blows my mind now how things have changed and that you can get a good (and cool) night’s sleep on a mattress without a single spring. Enter, a Leesa Mattress. It is designed and engineered with three different state of the art foams to help keep you cool, follow the contours of your body, and offering support for your core too.

The bottom layer of foam is a dense layer, that really gave amazing support. The middle layer is memory foam, to give comfort and to remember you and your body. The top layer is made from a cooling foam that helps air-flow, so that you don’t get too hot. Winning.

And the really unique selling point about it? It comes in a box! Making it easy to move around in the home, and easy to store until you’re ready to use it.

It was simple to open and set up. The really magic part is opening out the mattress, unwrapping the packaging, and then seeing it expand and get into shape – a really cool feature.

I was impressed at just how soft the mattress felt, but after sleeping on it, it was really supportive and comfortable. No one likes a mattress where you just end up rolling into the middle (especially if you share a bed), and this was definitely not the case – it has been sturdy and supple, yet soft at the same time. It has helped in the heat too.

The good news is that Leesa are so confident that you’ll fall in love with their mattress, you can trial it for 100 days. And if you’re not happy with it, you can send it back, no questions asked, to get a full refund.

We have been using ours for a month now, and it has been great so far. But it is good to know that there is this confidence boost from Leesa too. The mattresses also come with a ten year warranty, which I think is really amazing value.

Getting a good mattress can be costly up front (though completely worth it to get a good night’s sleep). Because Leesa are only online and don’t have the overheads of a store, they can offer really competitive mattress prices, as well as offering 0% financing to make it easier for more people to be able to get a good mattress. The prices are:

  • SINGLE – £399
  • DOUBLE – £599
  • KING – £699
  • SUPERKING – £769

I think you do get value for money with the mattress, and you do get a good, comfortable, and cool night’s sleep. And after all, that is what you want to have, right?
