My children being back at school can mean a few things. But, one of the things that I am almost looking forward to is getting back to routine and getting our mornings more productive. I know that when my days are more structured, I get so much more done. The kids eat better, I eat better, and we are just on top of things (generally).
So getting back on the school run and my daughter starting school in her reception year for the first time, getting back to a routine has been a good thing for us. With all the going back to school talk, and starting school for the first time, it really got me thinking of the things I can be doing to make sure they are ready for it all.
Bedtime was pretty bad over the holidays, so this was the first thing that we started getting back to; going to bed at their normal time! But over the past week we have also been trying out some of the new multivitamins that Bassetts Vitamins have just launched, the Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles for 3-6 year olds.
While my children aren’t mega fussy eaters, they certainly aren’t the best. I actually find breakfast time the worst for them as they just wanted sugar-laden cereal or toast. An occasional smoothie, but that is about it. And I know how important it is for them to have a breakfast that will set them up for the day, especially being back at school.
So while we will continue to strive to get them to try healthier breakfast foods, knowing that they are taking a multivitamin each morning is good peace of mind to help support them for the day ahead*. In fact, each tasty and chewy vitamin contains Vitamin B6 to support psychological function as well as Vitamin B5 which contributes to mental performance. So it is a smart way to start the day!
Not only that, but the multivitamins actually taste good, and the children have been asking for one each morning.
It has been good that we can keep the conversation going about what they are eating and why, and have us all talking about what they need to eat in a day. All of this combined with fact that the multivitamins are made with natural flavours and colours, and no added sugar, means that they have been a winner in our house.
The children have really enjoyed taking the vitamins, and I will be buying them again, for sure. They taste good and do good, which as a parent, is a massive help to me when I want to help them be set up for a day at school. The multivitamins are a great addition to their day, and do help as both of my children can be little fussy eaters*.
They have loved the flavour though and described the flavour as like an orange ice lolly (Chloe, 4) and like lots of glasses of juice (Max, 6). So thumbs up all round!

The RRP for the vitamins is £5.50 for a pack of 30 pastilles. It is pretty competitive for what is out there, and you know exactly what is in them, and that the kids will eat them. Bassetts Vitamins supports and celebrates fun moments families share in their daily lives, much like the school run… Is there never a dull moment? Let’s keep it that way!
Have you tried these vitamins before? Do you have fussy eaters? It would be great to hear what you think.
*the vitamins have been gifted in exchange for this post and I have been compensated for my time. However, all opinions remain my own.
*Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a healthy and balanced diet.
I know I should be taking vitamins but I just always forget! What are you top tips for remembering?
Always have the box out in the kitchen and have them with your breakfast is my tip!
Aww I remember having vitamins like this when I was a child! My daughter is almost old enough to move from syrup vitamins to these ones and I think she’s going to love it 🙂
Oh definitely!
I was really bad at taking vitamins when I was a kid and I had to have chewy ones like these x
It definitely makes it easier when the kiddies love the taste of their vitamins!
My kids love the orange flavour ones, it makes it so much easier when they actually ask for them
Absolutely!
I’ve been taking vitamins recently and I feel so much better for it!
Me too!
I love Bassett’s multivitamins, I always have the adult version every morning. My nephew also has his kiddie ones every day like clockwork.

Sounds great, it’s best to get it in as part of your routine!
These are the only vitamins that my boys will take! Pickle thinks they are sweets. Kaz
Haha it’s great when they don’t notice they’re having something healthy!
I love this! I think good diet and nutrition are vital for everyone especially kids who are still growing and developing.
Absolutely, especially if we can’t always guarantee the nutritional content of our food.
I really need to start taking vitamins again – they used to be such a part of my daily routine. These look great for young growing children
They really are great!
My boy has had these before and said they tasted lovely. We call his multivitamins “magic sweeties” cause they make you nice and strong and healthy! He says these taste like Capri sun, so they’re definitely a winner.
They are a winner in our home too, so tasty!
