I try to eat plant based as often as I can and always look out for healthy snacking options – particualrly for the children. Introducing Naturelly!
Naturelly, as it might sound, is a naturally fruit flavoured jelly juice drink made with fruit juice and a special gelatine free jelly. The jelly juice naturally helps fill up little tummies until meal time and helps to stop those cravings for sugary snacks, as they are sweet but it is all natural. I like that the snacks can work as a drink and also a snack, as it has the jelly-like consistency but is set up in the pouches meaning it is perfect to sip from and it doesn’t spill – yay!
The label says that they are suitable from children from age 2. They only thing that makes me think this is the case, is the ‘tummy-filling’ jelly and it might not mix well in little tummies, otherwise I don’t see why it is inappropriate for children from 1. Max and I tried them and enjoyed them so I thought that at 18 months, they were appropriate for Chloe too – she was totally fine with them and wolfed them down!
They are a handy size, I like that they can be re-sealed and they don’t need to be consumed from chilled. There are only three flavours available at the moment – tropical, summer fruits and apple & blackcurrant – but they all taste really good. They are really fruity in taste (I know it sounds obvious, but it isn’t a slight fruit taste, but rather a really fruity taste, if that makes any sense, and I think they are rather delicious (perfect snack for me too at only 36 calories per pouch)! A hit with the children too.
I would definitely recommend them and think they are a perfect snack for school (it’s a school approved product) and it has also been approved by the vegetarian and coeliac societies too – bonus. You can buy packs of 12 or 24 online here, or get them at selected WholeFoods Stores.
What do you think to these? I will be purchasing some in the future!
