Organic DIY Face Mask

There are so many skin care products out on the market, its hard to know what to choose and then one thing I am becoming aware of more and more recently; what goes into them.

I hear the word organic and usually think expensive, but you don’t have to spend lots of money on this DIY organic face mask. It also contains just 2 ingredients so is really simple to make too.

You will need:

– 1 ripe organic banana

– 2 tbsp organic oats

And, that’s it!

Simply mash them together in a bowl and you have one healthy, tasty and totally natural face mask. Use your fingers to apply it to your face (you may find that its a bit slippery so you’ll need to do a bit of rubbing in). Then, sit back and relax for 15 minutes while it gets to work. Afterwards, just wash it all of with warm water.

Bananas have long been used on skin for their moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties so this mask is especially beneficial if you suffer from dry skin. The antioxidants and potassium found in banana pulp are also great for treating skin problems such as warts and acne. The oats are also a perfect gently exfoliator.

You can a tablespoon of honey to this simple home-made mask if you want added anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial powers. Alternatively, of you’re really pressed for ingredients, you can forget the oats and just mash the banana. You’ll still be left with softened, glowing skin (and fingers you can lick while you wait for it to do its magic).

Yum.
