Review: Emunity Nettle Drinks

I am someone who loves to discover a new product, especially if it helps to make life simpler or make being healthier simpler. When life is back to normal, as it will be hopefully soon, I lead a busy life. With two businesses, two children, and all that it entails, I am on-the-go a lot of the time. I know that I need to be careful with what I eat and drink because of PCOS and how it impacts my weight and blood sugar, so products that are a good choice and fit the ‘health’ category is something that definitely interests me.

I have been sent some Emunity Drinks to review, which on paper, definitely fits the health category. It is classed as a detox drink that harnesses the healing and immunity-boosting benefits of nettle, the first of its kind. It also comes in a handy can to drink from, which is good to have in your bag to take to work or to take in the car or out on a picnic.

The Stinging Nettle that you can find out in the park or woods, has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. I have heard of people having nettle soup before, but I have just thought how much that kind of thing would sting, haha! It is quite an ordinary plant but has some extraordinary qualities, and when used in health foods, no sting at all. Nettle contains active compounds that are good for you and your body. Nettle is also known to lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels (perfect for someone like me with PCOS), and it reduces the effects of skin ageing. Nettle has been shown to help the symptoms of hay fever, and it does have anti-bacterial properties, as well as your immune system. Talk about a wonder plant!

As nettle in and of itself isn’t particularly tasty, or tastes of much, the creators of Emunity (who are chemists) hve made the drinks in two flavours; wild strawberry and Gooseberry. The other ingredients in the drink are health foods, such as rosemary that can help digestion, as well as cucumber that is rich in antioxidants and vitamins. I was quite dubious when I first heard about the drinks, with nettle and some other non-traditional drink ingredients, but they are honestly so refreshing and so tasty!

I was so impressed and would definitely have them again. It is so great to know that the drink I am having, which is delicious and really refreshing (best served cold, in my opinion) is doing so much good for me too. It isn’t a carbonated drink, and is only 53 calories per can.

I really like that it is a drink that is vegan and 100% natural. There are other health or detox drinks that are out there that are full of junk and chemicals, but this is just harnessing the amazing and natural powers of nature. I would recommend these. What would be great further down the line is making them accessible, meaning that they are available in some supermarkets, rather than just online. At the moment they can be bought from the Emunity website, Amazon, and some independent heath food shops (RRP £1.49).

Have you heard of Emunity before? It would be great to hear what you think.

*the drinks were gifted in exchange for review. All opinions are my own and I would only recommend something that I would buy myself.
