Review: Juno Bamboo Water

One of the great parts of being a blogger, especially one who is looking for ways to work smarter, not harder, as a busy parent, is being introduced to new brands and products that help me to do just that. Of course, staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water each day is a must for everyone (especially when breastfeeding 🙋🏼‍♀️) but having something a little different, with some added health benefits, is good to add into the cycle.

Bamboo water is not something I had ever heard of before, but that is where Juno comes in, with their bamboo infused lightly sparkling water. It sounds a bit random doesn’t it? But read on! There are a number of reasons why adding bamboo water in your life can be a good thing, not to mention that it tastes great too.

Bamboo Water

So what is bamboo water all about? The water is lightly sparkling, and has been infused with bamboo leaf, to make a really refreshing drink. There is also an added burst of yuzu (Japanese lemon) that gives the drink a citrus twist. It really is a refreshing drink (especially when served chilled)!

Not only does it taste good and as mentioned, is really refreshing, it is a healthy drink that is packed full of antioxidants. The reason for this is the bamboo leaf. It has been known for centuries just how great bamboo is, particularly as a natural remedy to help detox the body, boost immunity, and help to stimulate collagen in the body. While I can’t speak to these effects, as they’re hard to measure at home, I can definitely attest to how tasty the drink is and how good I felt after it. Mr U loved it too and wants to get it here he’s out and about in London. The bamboo water is also sugar-free, caffeine-free, and suitable for vegans.

Bamboo Sustainability

Like me, you might naturally associate bamboo with pandas initially. As we know, they are a species in danger, so is it a good thing to be making water out of their food and habitat? The good news is that bamboo is actually a product that is widely available, not just where pandas are. It is one of the fastest growing plants that there is, and it can re-grow quickly after being harvested. It only needs a little water to grow and thrive, so it is easy to grow, which is what Juno pay close attention to.

Not only that, but in an effort to be sustainable, the brand have partnered with TreeApp, which is how they help to fund reforestation projects around the world. I also liked that the bottles of bamboo water are made from glass, rather than plastic. Really positive and encourages recycling.

The Details

One thing I was curious to know more about was where you could get the water from and how much it would cost to buy. With free delivery in the UK, the cost for a pack of 12 bottles of 500ml is £26.90 (making it £2.24 per bottle). This isn’t something I’d consider a bargain, to be honest, but it is a drink with more for you than others. It isn’t something that I’d have every day, because of the cost, but something to have in to have every now and again.

Juno Bamboo Water is available in about 100 stores in London and now expanding to the rest of the UK.

Have you heard of Juno Bamboo Water before? Although a little pricey, it does taste great! It would be fab to hear what you think.
