Yes, as the name of the blog post suggests, this is all about some pregnancy essentials that I have been looking at from Zita West. As regular readers will know, I have a nine year old and a seven year old, so what am I doing with some pregnancy products?! Well, after a long journey of miscarriage and secondary infertility, I am amazed to announce that I am pregnant! Baby number three is due at Christmas! It definitely was a big surprise, as I had pretty much given up hope of another child, but here we are!
Zita West first and foremost was a fertility clinic and expert based in London, but now has a range of lovely products for women on IVF, those pregnant looking for pregnancy products for the first, second and third trimester, as well as post-partum and breastfeeding products. With such a name behind them like Zita West, you know you will be getting expertly made products that really have a purpose, and that are made of the highest quality ingredients.
Zita West Products Website
On the website, I really like that there is an option to select what the best products are for you, if you don’t know what you are looking for, with options like ‘thinking of IVF’ or ‘already pregnant.’ For someone expecting for the first time, or expecting again after a gap, like me, this is really useful, as well as those who are struggling to conceive. Showing what is recommended for you is a great feature. The website is designed clearly and looks clean, which is really appealing and makes it easy to navigate.
Zita West Products

The products that I have been trying out are pictured above; the second trimester supplements and the beautiful belly balm. Just from looking at the bottles, my first impressions were very positive. They look good, look well-made and high-quality, and look expertly designed. They are also really clear on when they can be used; the balm for example, can be used throughout, but obviously, the supplements should be used from the start of the second trimester at week 13. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant, so have been using them for just over a week, and it is great to know that I am getting the essentials that both the baby and I need, because other than advice on folic acid, the midwife hasn’t specified anything else in particular.
Beautiful Belly Balm

Having been pregnant before, I know just how important it is to look after your skin and keep it moisturised and hydrated, especially as the belly expands. This Beautiful Belly Balm comes with a pump, making it easy to use one-handed, when using after a shower, for example, and it smells amazing too! It is quite thick, so you don’t need to use a lot each time, showing that it will last for quite a while throughout the pregnancy.
Priced at £18.95 it is not exactly classed as cheap, but due to how much I have been using it, and how little it has gone down, because you don’t need much at all, I think you do get value for money. Compared to other creams that advertise specifically for helping stretch marks, it is not that different either.
Second Trimester Supplements

The Vital Essence 2 Second Trimester Vitamins & Minerals is a one month supply of supplements for use after 13 weeks. They are vegan, so suitable for most people (they are also gluten-free and yeast-free) and full of all that is needed for both me and baby. Each of the capsules is packed with the specific vitamins and minerals that are the most important for this trimester of the pregnancy. This is not only great peace of mind, but good to know that I am doing all I can to have a healthy pregnancy. Knowing Zita West is behind the products shows the expertise that will have gone into the product and that each supplement is full of good stuff.
The capsules are quite large, but no different than any other capsule supplement or tablet, and didn’t really taste of anything, making them easy to swallow and ingest. They are priced at £28.50 for one bottle, making it less than £1 per day, and if you buy two or more, you get 10% off.
Zita West have a range of supplements for all stages of pregnancy, as well as trying to conceive, so Zita West should be a first point of call for all mums-to-be. Have you heard of Zita West before? It would be great to hear what you think.
