Looking to update your living space this winter? Scandinavian style has a strong influence on interior design at the moment, and is super on trend. It’s all about creating a contemporary, liveable space for all the family with a touch of Scandinavian charm. The popularity of this style has boomed, and social media sites like Pinterest have so many beautiful ideas to recreate at home.
How do you want to feel at home this winter?
Calm, relaxed, happy… Ok so perhaps this is wishful thinking! But only a furniture piece or two and some sophisticated finishing touches is all it can take to transform your home and create a serene sanctuary that everyone will appreciate.
If you (like me) have little ones at home 24/7 and a guest list as long as your arm coming over for the festive period, you probably won’t want to pay over the odds for new décor in case of spilt drinks and crayon conundrums. That’s why you can get every item here for under £200…bargain!
Take a look at this purse-friendly homeware haul I’ve put together that will hopefully leave you feeling inspired for a winter refresh in your own home. Plus, if you’re trying to bring some “hygge” into your life this season, this will compliment it perfectly!
Design notes:
Colour
A tranquil wash of white, beige and grey as a simple backdrop to compliment any accent colour.
A gentle pop of green and pink hues to bring in elements of nature, but you could choose cooler tones of blue and crisp yellow if you prefer.
Classy accessories with finishes of rose gold brings everything right on trend.
Texture
Keep textures nice and tactile, plenty of throws and cushions piled on every sofa to snuggle into on chilly nights.
Kids will love to cuddle soft accessories and build a comfy fort in their plush surroundings.
Nature
In true “hygge” style, bring features of the natural world into your living space.
Choose real or faux plants (yes please, I’m too lazy!) to add vibrancy.
Embrace the organic textures and colours of wood in furniture and accessories.
Now try to resist these gorgeous items…
SCANDINAVIAN SIMPLISTIC DINING CHAIRS By Zurleys, £65.00 each
I’m officially in love with these! They would look so cute yet smart as dining table chairs, or as a funky accent chair in a bedroom. All the stunning colours fit with this scheme and they look so comfortable. Perfect for long evenings of board games and festive feasts around the dinner table! Find them from Zurleys here.
BELL COPPER AND WOOD TABLE LAMP By Zurleys, £39.99
Didn’t I tell ya that rose gold was trendy? Warm copper toned lighting will give a cosy glow in your living area which is ideal for darker evenings. The rose gold mesh of this lamp will diffuse light and make sure you have a comforting space to relax and entertain. Find it here.
MONGOLIAN GREY FAUX FUR CUSHION By Dunelm Mill, £8
Just looking at this I want to snuggle up! It has a lovely shaggy texture which will be loved by kids and adults alike. Make sure you buy plenty of these to go around for those impromptu Christmas naps. Dunelm are fabulous for cushions, and they have this particular design in other divine cool colours such as “seafoam” and “charcoal” to suit your taste.
GRÅFIBBLA GREY THROW By IKEA, £45
Sometimes it’s worth spending a little extra on a luxury item, and this is one of them! Superbly soft pure new wool woven in this gorgeous colour with a subtle cable knit print is just perfect. Big enough to wrap up you and a loved one in front of the TV, or as a throw over your bed – it’s as versatile as it is pretty.
FAUX PLANT By Primark, various styles from £3
Primark has got this trend spot on. You can find their faux plants in a variety of faux succulent species, in either marble effect vases or dinky metallic pots. So cute! Because they’re so cheap you can grab a few of these and dot them around the house to continue the theme in your entire home. I’ve been impressed by the look and quality of these, they are a very close match to a similar pricier product by a high end department store!
STORAGE BASKETS By Primark, £8 for two
Another fantastic buy from Primark! If you’re going for rose gold accessories, these baskets will tie in beautifully and they look so elegant for £4 each. They have endless uses for around the home, and would even look darling in a children’s bedroom or nursery. Be quick as I’m sure these will sell fast!
VARIOUS PRINTS By Desenio, from £9.95 each
Strelitzia Leaf/Stockholm Rooftops
Be Kinder/All of Me
These are über cool and so well priced. All come unframed but you can get co-ordinating frames by Desenio for an equally reasonable price. I could spend hours on their website browsing through all their beautiful prints… if only I had enough wall space for them all! These designs in particular go so well with the Scandi-chic theme and will keep your home looking fresh and modern. Expect compliments from visitors!
ROSE GOLD BLUSH BAUBLES By The Range, £2.29 for a pack of 4
Pink doesn’t have to mean girly! Blush coppery tones are much more universal and so popular at the moment. In fact I’ve seen entire Christmas decoration aisles dedicated to this swoon-worthy shade. These baubles are gorgeous and would look amazing amongst other neutral coloured decorations on your tree.
WOODEN SHABBY CHIC HANGING DECORATIONS, from £1.29 each
Scandinavian design comes through with these unusual wooden decorations. They are so sweet and would look good either hung on your tree or just over door handles around your home. I’m absolutely in love with them and they will compliment any colour scheme you have this Christmas.

Some gorgeous items here. I have so much stuff that the whole scandi minimalistic approach just doesn’t really work for me x
I find that hiding things in storage helps to create a minimalist look, without the effort of decluttering 😀

Ooh! I love the scandinavian style so much!! <3 Those faux succulents are super cute, I'll definitely be getting some of those! (I have a naughty kitty who always likes to eat real plants, so faux is definitely the way to go!!) xx
Faux is defo the way to go!
The Scandinavian Simplistic Dining Chairs are soooo nice! Love the shape and the colours, I’d love a set.
Us too!
The items you have chosen are really beautiful and it’s great that you can buy all of them for under £200! Christmas shopping is expensive enough, and sometimes there is not much left in the budget for decorations.
I know, we feel the same. Luckily a few cheaper pieces won’t break the bank – phew!
I’m loving different textures in our home right now. We’ve got quite a lot of faux fur going on at the moment (which I put down to our recent binge watching of Vikings).
As a huge plant addict, I’ve got the bringing nature indoor with my (around 60) houseplants.
Love the storage baskets. I do need more storage.
