Review: Slightly Different Foods Low FODMAP Cooking Sauces

Cooking in a hurry is something that I think many of us do, or look for, especially when we have a busy family life. But when you have some allergies in the family such as gluten-free diet requirements, or digestive issues such as IBS, it really can limit what you can have, especially from products that you can just buy off the shelf. Having meals that you can whip up quickly can make a big difference. That is why it is great to see a range of cooking sauces that are suitable for a whole host of different people, particularly those needing to follow a Low FODmap diet due to digestive issues.

Vegan and Gluten-Free Cooking Sauces for IBS Sufferers

Slightly Different Foods are a small family business that provides such a thing. They specialise in providing an award-winning range of tasty food for those people who suffer from IBS and other digestive or gut issues. Their cooking sauces mean that they are suitable for IBS sufferers, by keeping trigger foods out of the sauces, but also keep artificial preservatives, flavourings and any colourings out of the sauces too. The cooking sauces range are also low in salt and sugar, as well as being vegan and they have also been certified gluten-free. I can’t think of many people that these cooking sauces wouldn’t be suitable for.

One of our favourite recipes to make are curries, and the cooking sauces, such as the Thai red curry sauce and tropical curry sauce from Slightly Different Foods, were our first choices. Cooking up protein, veggies, and rice, along with the sauce, makes for a quick and easy dinner, full of flavour. The sauces that we tried tasted good. I didn’t find their flavours too strong or overpowering, so it did make them a good choice for the children to have too. The flavours were quite subtle, to be honest. They did taste good, though.

Value for Money?

Each of the sauces costs £3.45 from the Slightly Different Foods website, which although more than I would normally pay in the supermarket, is worth it for sauces that are going to be suitable for all and not cause any tummy or digestive problems. I don’t always know what the triggers are for me, so having the common triggers eliminated really makes a difference. You can also get the sauces, and their other products, on subscription from their website, which does make it cheaper.

If this sounds like something that interests you, then the good news is that you can get a range of free recipes on their website. There are also a range of as well as try the other sauces that they have that are Low FODmap-friendly such as mayonnaise, salad dressings, and other table sauces.

I think if you are someone looking for cooking sauces that are low FODmap-friendly, vegan, and gluten-free, then these sauces make a big difference. Having a go-to choice like these from Slightly Different Foods is great.

Have you heard of these before? It would be great to hear what you think.
