14 Day Essential Teatox | Review & Giveaway

There are times in all of our lives that we can all feel a little overwhelmed and exhausted. I think this has been particularly true for me, especially since becoming a parent. I think that from time to time it is good to have a little bit of a detox and refresh yourself. This time of year is the perfect time for a detox too. Anything to fight off the cold viruses and bugs, right? So over the past two weeks I have been sampling and trying out a ‘teatox’ detox, from the lovely people at Essential Teatox.

I have been a bit hit and miss with herbal teas in the past, as I am a bit fussy with the flavours. I don’t like them to taste too weak or watery, if that makes sense? But I was pleasantly surprised with the flavours of the two different flavour temples that come in the teatox. The morning temples are meant for use daily (so you get 14) and the evening temples are meant to be used every other evening (so you get 7).

The AM detox temples contain:

  • juniper berry
  • lemon peel
  • ginger pieces
  • burdock root
  • raspberry ketone
  • peppermint leaf
  • stevia leaf
  • sarsaparilla
  • oolong tea

The flavours all worked well together and nothing was too dominant. I thought it might just taste like ginger tea, as I find ginger quite an overpowering taste It didn’t at all! It was really subtle. These ingredients are there to help detox your body, improve your energy levels and aid weight loss (when you are eating well too).

The PM cleanse temples contain:

  • senna leaf
  • licorice
  • dandelion leaf
  • ginger pieces
  • fenugreek pieces
  • stevia leaf
  • peppermint leaf
  • triphala

To be honest, this was my favourite taste. I find it rather minty which was very tasty and refreshing. I actually looked forward to having this every other evening! The flavours in this are to prepare you for a good night’s sleep, all the while working to restore your body’s natural balance (in other words, keep you regular). This certainly worked and helped to me to not feel bloated or full.

I like that all of the ingredients are natural and things that I have heard of before! There are a lot of teatox brands out there, so it can be tricky to choose one. I would certainly get this one again, as it is 100% natural. Even the tea temples are biodegradable, so to me, they are a great brand that cares about the environment, as well as our bodies. I am all for natural ingredients and no chemicals.

I found that I lost 2 lbs over the last two weeks, which was pretty good considering I wasn’t doing anything else above what I normally do. I also found that I was less bloated and just small things like my skin looking improved. I wouldn’t necessarily say I felt more energised, but didn’t feel the need for an afternoon nap, when I usually do. So to me, this teatox does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak.

A 14 day teatox from Essential Teatox cost £19.99. I think that this is totally reasonable to be fair. It works out at around 95p per drink (as you get 21 in total). So for a cup of tea to be bought elsewhere, it is completely competitive. All in all I would recommend this as a healthy way to detox and give your system a reboot. I can’t find anything to fault it!
