Tips For Getting Your Home Ready For Spring

I know, I know, it is still January. But with all of the icy weather we have been having recently it has had me dreaming of warmer times. Plus, I have a bot of an affinity to spring, so will be quite happy when it starts to make an appearance. So there is not time like the present to get things prepped, right?

Here are some of the things that I am doing (and would recommend doing), to get your home ready for springtime. So long winter!

Clean Your Carpets

There is nothing better than clean carpets! I always seem to find that over winter, the carpets understandably get quite dirty and leaves mine looking a little grey. Getting cream carpets wasn’t maybe the wisest idea with little kids. So if you are planning to get your home ready for spring, then getting the carpets cleaned is at the top of my list. Clean carpets make a room look so fresh and different.

I recently had my carpets cleaned by Carpet Bright UK and it was so lovely to have someone else clean my carpets for me. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Make sure that you mention this blog if you want to get 10% off your first booking and get pet protection free.

Brighten the Home with Flowers

Real or fake, I think flowers really brighten up any room. They can give a room a softer edge too as they just make everything look prettier.  If you don’t have too many vases at home, then you could use some glasses or jars that you have already at home. They can look really cute for holding smaller number of flowers for a bedside table, for example, rather than a large bunch of flowers. A gerbera head floating in water in a martini glass is a stylish and simple way to decorate with flowers. Something like that works particularly well for a table centrepiece.

Peel Off the Layers

Over the winter you might have been making a lot of use out for throws, blankets and extra cushions. So to get spring off to a good start, having those kinds of things washed and cleaned and packed away is a good idea to start the spring cleanse. Taking off the layers on the bed or the sofa can also create a new look in the room.

Cross Off Your To-Do List

If you’re like me, then you’ll like to hibernate a little in winter. It is a busy time with various bits and bobs. Plus with extra time off we just get on with various family things. So the house does get a bit neglected. So for spring coming around, we will be sorting a few bits around the house that need to be updated. Even just today I have been putting up some new canvas prints that we got recently. They have just been sat around but decided that it was time to sort out a few of those things that are on our to-do list. If you’ve got a few things on there, then take a bit of time and get them ticked off. It is so satisfying!

Will you be giving your home a bit of a sort or revamp for spring?
