Toy Review: Geomag Glitter

When it comes to choosing toys, I am all over toys that are educational but still fun at the same time. It can be tricky, though, as there needs to be a lot of consideration for the environment, and there can be a lot of hard plastic when choosing toys for children, educational ones or not. So looking out for toys that are either plastic-free or made with recycled plastic is something I am very conscious of right now. If you are the same, and want a toy STEM toy that is educational, but conscious of the environment too, then have you heard of Geomag?

Geomag Glitter Panels Recycled 35 Piece Magnetic Set

I had heard of Geomag before, and know how entertaining they can be for children, taking hours to make different creations; there is just something about magnets, isn’t there? But I had no idea that their new Glitter Geomag set is made from 100% recycled plastic. It is such a good thing to see, especially against competitor products.

If you have creative kids, then it really is a great toy set to help them to get creative and build! The new set, made up of 35 pieces, is bright and colourful, really appealing to children of all ages. For children using the set, whether they are looking to create bright and colourful buildings and structures, to creating new designs of their own, being able to get creative is what this set is all about. I have an eight year old and a ten year old, a girl and a boy, and they both played with this set for hours on end, both coming up with completely different designs to each other, so it is a great way for them to be creative and express themselves. The glitter of the set is a bonus too, as it really appeals, especially to my daughter.

The magnetic element really is fun and unique. They are very powerful too! Just playing with those and seeing what they stick to is hours of fun too! But with the bright colour panels and magnetic sticks, you can create some amazing designs. I like that the box comes with some ideas to help, as well as a leaflet inside to give some hints and tips as to what works well. The pièce de résistance with the set, I feel, is that it is made from 100% recycled plastic. Such a good feature!

Value for money?

Priced currently at £19.50, you can get this Glitter Geomag recycled plastic magnetic set from The Entertainer ToyShop. For what you get, a STEM toy made from quality materials, that you know will last and last (with the magnets it feels pretty indestructible if I’m honest) I do feel like you get some value for money. Although not cheap, it is something that will keep going and would work well for something like a birthday or Christmas gift (yes, I mentioned the C word)! Suitable for children aged3 and over, well into teens for those that like to build and construct, I reckon, it can make its way through the family and be passed on.

Have you heard of Geomag before? Do you think it is something that your children would like? It would be great to hear what you think.
