Regular readers of the blog will know that I love to travel and we try to do so as often as we can. We were in Rome in the summer and got to visit the Vatican City and see the colonnades by St. Peter’s Basilica and it was all so stunning. We also went to Dubai and Thailand (the latter I have completely fallen in love with – despite having a toddler that doesn’t seem to nap on planes. Like ever).
There are a number of places that I would love to visit though, including some other countries in Asia and one day, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
There are some specific sights I would like to see too.
- I have family in the US so we do visit there fairly often but there are several states that I have never been to. I think the Dakota’s (North and South) 😉 would be kind of interesting to visit as I have never been to that area of the States before. The visit would have to include Mount Rushmore of course; I just think it would be pretty breath-taking to see.
- I have never been to South America so if I was to ever visit I think a must is the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I know several people that have been there and, other than it being full of tourists, said just how amazing it is.
- I would love to do a Nordic cruise or just generally visit Norway, especially somewhere like the Viegland Sculpture Park. Since our trip to Rome I have become so much fonder of city breaks. They’re not always possible with the little ones but when they are older I know they would appreciate it.
I recently came across a quiz by Karcher that you can do to test your knowledge of some different historical monuments of the world – I found it really interesting. For someone that claims to love travel, apparently I am pretty bad at choosing where these specific places are in the world… I won’t forget them now! 😉
Where would your dream holiday destination be? Let me know in the comments below!

Rome was our last holiday before the Tubblet was born and we loved it. A lot of your travel bucket is on ours as well – Australia, the Nordics.
Rome is so amazing isn’t it? I’d love to go back but think it’s best done child-free!
I would love to go to Rome, My partner has already been so don’t want to go back for a few years so I best get my thinking head on to where to go!
YES, I’d love to see the Dakotas. 🙂
