I have seen so much of the tropical trend for homes recently and I have to say, I think it is pretty great! I wouldn’t go to change a whole room in that style, but there are so many accessories that I am loving. Pops of colour makes such a difference to all of the monochromes that I see quite a lot of. Don’t get me wrong I do like a bit of black and white. I just think that colour can be such a lovely addition too. I love pineapples and flamingos so it is fun seeing them in home accessory form all over the place.
The ideal thing for the tropical look would be having some gorgeous wooden flooring. With some wooden blinds and thin, flowing fabric to frame the window, it would look amazing. I think it would look best in a bedroom, but would well in a living area. Some fun toucan or flamingo cushions would look good. I like to change up our dining table centrepiece to go with the seasons. A few little pineapple trinkets, fresh oriental lilies and a scented candle would work well over the summer months.
Here are a few things that I think are so gorgeous and would love to get:
Pineapple Shaped Glass Jar – I think that this is a bargain at £8. It would look so good as part of a dining table centrepiece. It would work well on a bedside table or window sill too. I think a few in different sizes would look great. It works so well with the tropical theme, for the summer.
Patterned Duvet Cover Set – This just screams summer and all things tropical. I like changing up the bedding for the seasons we are in. You don’t want lots of cushions or throws on your bed when it is warmer and sunnier weather. It would work well if your bedroom walls are quite neutral, as mine are. Otherwise, it would be rather loud. If you have busier bedroom walls, you could opt for a bright coloured duvet that it just one colour. Shades of green or a turquoise colour would be perfect for the tropical theme.
Pink Dragon Fruit Scented Candle – Because who doesn’t love a scented candle? Dragon fruit reminds me of when I was travelling in Thailand. I don’t think you can get much more tropical than that. I like to have scented candles in the home. It helps to get you in the mood of the season. This one sounds divine with its mix of fruit and floral.
Flamingo Print – If you don’t want to go all out with the tropical theme, then I think this is a great idea. It is subtle but still adds some colour. It would look cute in a baby’s room too. This type of thing might be quite easy to make yourself if you are quite crafty. It is simple but i think it looks so striking.
Have you been embracing the tropical trend at home? I’d love to know what your favourite pieces are.

I love a splash of colour, and that duvet set is gorgeous. We have many grey rooms in our house with splashes of yellow which make me smile, although our bedroom is very monochrome but it makes it nice and relaxing. Claire x #KCACOLS
Nice prints and refreshing just in time for spring.
I absolutely love the tropical look out there at the moment, I’m just not sure how the hubby would feel coming home to a house full of flamingo’s and pineapples lol! Thank you so much for linking up to #KCACOLS Hope you come back again next Sunday

I love colour too!! It makes a difference to a room. I have my kitchen, living area and dinning area with splashes of red. The theme is white with some red. I like it a lot because it looks modern. This tropical trend could be great for a beach house too. Thanks so much lovely for sharing this at #KCACOLS, 🙂 xx
